Chronicle Content
Through decades of gaining knowledge within the great library of Lord Elrond and through painstaking efforts of searching for clues of his true origin, Kalesiar has finally discovered a long-lost letter, written by a Dúnadan ranger from Esteldín. This letter will prove to be a very important hint in this long quest, for he will embark on a long journey of discovering the past of his parents and his ancestors, inspired both with the diary of his father and this letter.
The chances wanted that the letter was sent to Lord Elrond himself, more than 100 years ago, and it was lost in the vast archives of the great library... Until recently...
Kalesiar's devotion to history and lore has always been fueled by desire to discover more about his own past, about his ancestors and his ancestral home, the kingdom of Arnor. He was born in Ost Forod, in the year 2904 of the Third Age, to a family of Dúnedain scholars who had settled there for more than ten years prior to his birth. Kalesiar was not aware of his parents' past, nor did he know about the importance of his roots. He was raised as a simple boy, in a place that served as a trading post for precious artifacts of Arnor. At that time, the place was often called the "Smuggler's paradise" by the locals, and the nickname itself reveals what was the main occupation of its inhabitants. It is quite odd that Kalesiar's parents had decided to stay in such a dangerous area in the first place, but they had no other place to go at the time. Successfully concealing their true identity, in fear that they would be sold out to Angmarim assassins who were stalking the lands for any sign of Dúnedain, his parents continued to live and earn coins by selling their potions and healing salves to the locals and travellers.
Their life in Ost Forod was not easy, and that is a diminutive for what Kalesiar and his family have experienced during those eight years of Kalesiar's life. Fate wanted it that Kalesiar and his parents had to flee to Esteldín soon after his eighth birthday, and that is where their long and exhausting journey to Dale had begun.
NOTE: This journey will be written in episodes, where I (the author of the chronicles) will collect the pages from the diary of Lord Kalesiar's father Mirdir, and form chronicles that will record his life and his journeys.
