The date of this entry; January 15th, the Year 2947, of the Third Age.

Recent days have been quiet. The Siege is going along, nicely; and the soldiers are content with what they have now. I returned to Eriador, several nights ago, and have remained since.

The date of this entry; the Year 2933, of the Third Age.

Tidings from the West come to us; that the chieftain of the Dúnedain; Arathorn II, has fallen.

He was a friend to Elves, and Elladan and Elrohir, the twins of Elrond, as well. From what we know; he was felled by Orcs, that attacked his settlement.

But his wife, Gilraen, has fled. I do not know where to; but I fear for her.

‘The Long Winter’ has passed, finally! The cold was pleasant, and a ‘warm’ welcome from the heat of Spring, which is everlasting in Caras Galadhon.

I see now the snow melting, and the flowers blooming; the Mallorn are unaffected, and ever blossom. I will look forward to the coming days.

Winter has come to Lothlórien. Some are calling it ‘The Long Winter’, for it is now summer!

It is pleasant, yet unnerving. We cannot see ‘cross the Anduin, nor far from our borders.

Yet it is beautiful, and soft; the snow. I will enjoy if I can.

Ill tidings seem to come like water down a stream. Greenwood, the Great; our neighbour, has a terrible visitor. The Necromancer, as he is called by his thralls; has built a Tower, atop the largest Hill in the Southern Area.

Two days, the battle raged; yet now we stand victorious! Lord Glorfindel, of Imladris, battled long with Lord Eärnur at his side, with the Witch-king. I saw it as I fought the foul Black Númenorians.

A year has passed since the fall of Fornost, last true stronghold of the Dúnedain. Amon Sûl was still fresh in my mind; as it was with many of the Men here assembled.

This day, I travel through Khazad-dum, the Dwarrodelf. This realm of the Naughrim is..curious, but I will not tarry long.

The darkness is unnerving, and I long for the light of Talain Brethil once more. Long paths in the dark, deep are these mines.

Yet fear, it always gnaws in my mind. I will leave quickly.

More of the news of Angmar comes to us. Cardolan, The Red Hill Land, which houses the tombs and corpses of long past rulers; has fallen.

The Witch-king, as he calls himself, has taken it; and corrupted the cairns. We are told that fell beasts, skeletons and corpses, walk the tombs that they were buried ‘neath!

Troublesome news has arisen. The north-lands, past the Gladden Fields, and the Mountains; called Angmar, has a dictator.
