The day had little to offer Ceorlgar, and so he spent many hours in the afternoon training his sword arm further. He swung his sword for a long time, with short respites. He emptied his drinking skin many times, and then stepped forth once more to strike at the target. And he did not cease until his arms felt as though they could move no more. By that time the stars had already began to glisten bright in the sky, and the moon was unveiled for a while.
