Trainining At Dusk
The day had little to offer Ceorlgar, and so he spent many hours in the afternoon training his sword arm further. He swung his sword for a long time, with short respites. He emptied his drinking skin many times, and then stepped forth once more to strike at the target. And he did not cease until his arms felt as though they could move no more. By that time the stars had already began to glisten bright in the sky, and the moon was unveiled for a while. There was enough light for him to see, even the lamps of Snowbourn cast down pale light within the town, and the windows glistened with yellow candle-light. Needless to say that he bore a potent stench after all his labours, and was in desperate need of a bath!
