Tall and raven dark haired, although born under the light of the Trees, he is strong yet not as strong of body as all the Noldor of his time. Because he was born when the Trees were not shining bright (during the unrest of the noldor, it is said that the trees were not shining as they did before), and also because his strength faded over time.

Often one can see the star of Feanor on him: (symbol of all who followed the High King) silver-coloured, with eight rays and eight spikes.

Background

Arvaryar or High Protector in Quenya (it is his Father-name, and the only name he uses) A Noldo born in Tirion, the greatest of all Noldor cities ever, during the time of the great unrest of the Noldor. His Father was a smith of the folks of Aule, and later smith to Feanor and he built many shields. His mother was handmaiden at the gardens of Yvanna. Arvaryar had an older brother who was both in mood and action like his mother, and a beautiful twin sister, who rarely left Arvaryar's side, untill a shamefull event in Beleriand, where she left him forever.

When Lord Feanaro made his great speech to the noldor of Tirion, Arvaryar being very young, was enchanted by the words of the High King. He followed his Father in the host of Feanor and so did his sister. While his mother and elder brother remained in Aman. He participated in the kinslaying at Alqualondë, besides his father, a mighty spear wielder with a great shield decorated with the crest of Feanor. He sailed to Beleriand with the first host of the noldor (Feanor's folk). There he did the act that to this day he is most ashamed (more than any kinslaying) : the burning of the ships.

After the death of the High King, he went to east beleriand with the two elder sons of Feanor: Maglor and Maedhros. He was a warrior under the command of Lord Maglor at the "gap of Maglor' (until later times when Maglor was forced to retreat to Himring, the fortress of Maedhros). Arvaryar saw almost all the battles of Beleriand and was both at the sack of Doriath and the raid of Sirion. But his life in Beleriand is not only marked by events of war and the shameful slaying of his kin. He went to the great (greatest even!) Elven feast ever held: Mereth Aderthad held by the High King Fingolfin, there he was welcomed not as a kinslayer at Alqualondë nor as a burner of ships, but as a one of the heroes of North Beleriand.

After the kinslaying at Doriath, Arvaryar was still loyal to his lords (Maedhros and Maglor) and the fire of vengance still burned great within him, he said to his sister that he would follow his lords to the void if he had to, but his sister greatly ashamed of her deeds and of the deeds of her kin, left him never to be seen again. When at last Beleriand was destroyed, and both Maedhros and Maglor gone (one killed himself, the later still wander the shores of Middle Earth, singing of his fate), he did not accept the pardon of the Valar, and did not return to Aman to the undying lands. He thought that for the evil deeds that he has done he should remain in the mortal shores and fight the shadow until it is forever gone, only then he shall accept the pardon.

He did not go to Lindon, where the last high king dwelt, for in Lindon many Sindar (and other teleri) dwelt with the Noldor, he was ashamed of his deeds against them. He went to Eregion, and there under the crafts of the mighty Celebrimbor and the wisdom or the fair lady Galadriel (she dwelt there for a time before going to Lotholorien) the noldor culture flourished once more. But dark times came to Eregion aswell, and deceived by the one who was called "The Lord of Gifts" (Sauron, the former lieutenant of Morgoth) Eregion fell, and what was left of the folks of that land later settled in Ilmadris (rivendell) under the Lord Elrond who was heir to Thingol of Doriath, heir of Turgon of Gondolin, and who also was the foster child of Lord Maglor, Arvaryar's Liege Lord in Beleriand.

He wanders Eriador now, slaying all spawn of Morgoth
