| Outward Appearance | Weariness hangs upon Morvoran's broad shoulders like some predator at his throat. He is big, tall and with a noble look as generic to his dunadan brethren as could be, though perhaps denser and with more of a gut than most. Not as slender as his fellows, he is still graceful in bearing and elegant in motion, quiet and unseen when he wishes to be. He could have been called beautiful, once. But the weariness- it draws the life out of him.

Background
If one were in any way acquainted with the ways of the Northern Dunedain before six years ago, then one will have heard of Morvoran.
Born in the dark first month of 2940, this once-respected Ranger Captain had been known for his discipline, his unyielding dedication to the cause and his unshakably serious demeanor that kept him focused upon the benefit and safety of his people (to the great detriment of his humour and personability). And in bearing such a lofty position in the hearts and minds of the Northern Rangers, it only made his shameful fall that much more painful.
He was even the scion of one of the great lasting houses of the north, descended from the Lord-Protector of Dolindir by nearly unbroken line and with the blood of Numenor running nearly clear in his countenance and bearing. Among the Northern councils his father was a well respected leader of men and Morvoran matched and surpassed Mordhrog's reputation in the years to come. How could such a man of faith and breeding take such a fall from grace? Even the wisest could not say.
Morvoran began his work amongst the Rangers young and distinguished himself by his own decisive merit first, before taking up his father's place after Mordhrog suffered a severe head injury during a skirmish and never fully recovered. And he kept excellent company too, being of close friendship with Aragorn whom he had known as a child, alongside Aranarion, Golodir and Halbarad. It was a great boon to their people that the Captains of the Northern Dunedain were of such closeness in the main, and with Aranarion in particular Morvoran held a great and lasting friendship that saw them through uncountable hardships and dangers both in the wild and in defense of their homeland.
But he was not isolated to the upper echelons of his people. Morvoran kept councils and respect with all dunedain under his command, and divided his time well between home and the wilds, often leading missions himself when prudent and well advised. Though with these men he maintained a more respectable distance, as befits one of high race and standing. His only constant boon-companion would have been the ranger Brunfair, a trusted confidante and close friend to him and his family. But to all others he was their captain, reliable and trustworthy with the durable manner to inspire all the loyalty any defender of the free might desire.
And, as befitted a man of such standing and with such a sense of dedication to his people, Morvoran married well (though late according to most). Gaellant may have been headstrong and over-bold, but she displayed the same selfless dedication as her husband-to-be and all had anticipated the match for many years before it actually occurred. With her he had two children, a daughter Tadhrien and a son Mallenor, both healthy and strong and raised under the careful tuteladge of their pious parents.
Perhaps, in hindsight, one could interpret all these excellent accomplishments to be (rather than a natural consequence of Morvoran's good-fate and breeding) an attempt to 'compensate' for a troubled soul. For troubled it most certainly was. In the year 3013, four years after the catastrophic loss of Golodir to Angmar along with all the Rangers he drew with him including Brunfair, Morvoran was named Forsworn and Oathbreaker and exiled from the circles of the Dunedain by Aragorn himself.
The exact details of his transgressions have never been determined, but all at least know that he broke his marriage vows in another's bed and brought unforgivable shame upon himself, his family, and all his line in the doing. And though some amongst the people assume some of the blame must be Gaellant's to hold, our Chieftain insists that it is all Morvoran's to bear.
Little is known of his activities or whereabouts from then on, though many assume banditry of the wastrel. He can be espied in Bree, however, appearing to offer guiding services to the peoples and merchants of Breeland as the roads grow less and less safe and the shadow lengthens to ensnare us all.
