Fimdi stands stout and broad-shouldered, his long black beard braided with a single silver link near the end. He wears a well-worn travel-coat of brown-leather dyed gold at the front and trimmed in embroidery of mountain-green, over a tunic of deep amber. On his shoulders lies a mantle of coarse grey fur, a keepsake of his home-hollow’s winters. His boots are scuffed, his hammer-belt ready, and his two-handed axe rests across his back with the ease of one used to the road. His eyes are bright despite the years, and his laugh comes easily.

Background

***

Born in the hidden hollow of his people in the Grey Mountains, Fimdi learned early that the worth of a dwarf lies not in stones unmined nor gems unsold, but in hands that labour and hearts that remain open. He spent his youth foraging the rugged ridges for ore, working the molten forge as metalsmith, and shaping blades as weaponsmith — not for fame, but for folk. He travels between mountain-halls and low-lands, offering his craft to those in need, drinking deep at the hearth, and singing long after the bellows have cooled.

Friends
Miners of the Grey Mountains; travellers and artisans across Eriador; farmers and folk who value work above gold.
Relatives
His Ered Mithring brethren
Rivals/Enemies
Enemies of the Free Folk, tyrants
Loves
Forge-fire at dusk, hearty ale and a true laugh, the feel of iron under hammer, telling a story around a camp-flame.
Hates
Vanity forged from gold, weapons made only for show, pride without labour, the idle boast of those who forget the hammer.
Motivation
To keep alive the honest work of his people; to travel, learn, and offer skill rather than hoard treasure; to be the dwarf who sings when others grumble, who brings craft to folk rather than to lords.
Quotes
“The forge sings not for kings, but for folk!”
