Background

A middle-aged elf, by Eldar standards, Gaelimil was born in the surroundings of Mithlond from a family of Laiquendi commoners.

Gaelimil spent some of his youngling years in Ost-in-Edhil, under the tutelage of Angolchíl The Wise, Scholar and Tutor. He was forced to leave the elven capital of Eregion, following the Sacking of Eregion in S.A. 1695 by Sauron the Deceiver and consequent death of his tutor.

Following these events, Gaelimil found himself near Tharbad by S.A. 1701. The young elf is in awe at the majesty of Erenion Gil-Galad at the head of his army, and at his mastery of Aeglos. This brief glance of the High King of Noldor was a crucial influence on the young elf's later decision of mastering the spear as a Warden.

He was sent to Mithlond while still a child to learn the art of wood-crafting. This art, while it holds a special place in Gaelimil's heart now, felt unfulfilling at the time.

He began training in the lands surrounding Mithlond with some of his own crafted weapons, mostly spears and javelins. This attracts the notice of a much older Noldo who agrees to train Gaelimil in the Way of the Warden. The two of them become inseparable for the coming centuries of the Second Age.

Much of the Warden's involvement in the great events and battles of the Second Age still remains a mystery.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A bitter Eldar resembling Gaelimil is said to have made Mithlond his home since the beginning of the Third Age, lending his experience in woodworking in service to Círdan the Shipwright.

That Laegel became a courier for Círdan and travels extensively across Ered Luin, a duty that he enjoyed briefly.

The elf did not stay long in one place, and after his duty was done he set out to wander across Middle-earth. During such wanderings he met different people, seeing evil not only among the Edain but also in other races, including his own.

He meets in his travels Lady Turuviel, with whom also remains a friend. Upon hearing of a growing shadow in the East, he decides to travel to Imladris. There, he meets in the Halls of Fire members of Bar-en Vanimar and decides to join them in their struggle against the rising shadow.

Gaelimil is now Oath-sworn to Bar-en Vanimar, and he fights proudly under the banner of the Swan.

A changed Gaelimil, both in atire and in behaviour, recently returned to Imladris. To what ends or purpose, one can only wonder...
