Background

!!!!: On a bright and beautiful morning, Calairion was eager to wander, and he decided that on that day he would follow one of the mountain streams pouring into the river Lhun. Half a day he spent climbing the rocky mountains, finally reaching his destination. The source was a small lake, dramatically overlooking the valley. The sight was breathtaking. Alas, goblins had a small secluded cave on that remote part of the mountains. Calairion was ambushed, a spear pierced the back of his head and luckily, he died a quick death. His body was never found and the elves of the vale weep his loss.

Calairion, Quenya "Son of Sea Light", was born in TA 2214 in Himling, a small island about twenty-five miles off the coast of Forlindon.
After the War of Wrath, this island was all that remained of the ancient hill Himring, where in elder days Maedhros built his mighty fortress. Given its historic heritage, many nostalgic noldor, who did not want to lose their culture to the grey elves, chose to settle here from the beginning of the second age. The Noldor were eventually assimilated by the Falathrim but they never forsake their heritage, and so it was that in Himling both Quenya and Sindarin were spoken. During the Third Age however, despite their pride, much of the island's population became tired of Middle-Earth, and a slow but inevitable exodus eventually left the island unhabited.
Calairion was raised in the Falathrim tradition with some Noldor influences, spending much of his life seafaring the coasts of Lindon and living by the bounty of the ocean, be it pearls or fish. Of all the Valar, Ulmo is the one he reveres the most, as Calairion has always felt a special kinship with rivers, lakes and seas. 300 years later however, he was the last elf living in this remote place. Standing on the cliffs by the sea, he witnessed the departure of his brethren to the last toward Aman. Calairion, being prideful and young, chose to remain in Middle-earth. And so it was that he left Himling for the shores of Eriador,
Calairion loves water in all its shapes. If he is not boating, sailing, diving or fishing, you can probably find him playing his harp by the river. He is a very laid back and playful elf, although that can quickly change if you mention departing Middle-Earth.
