((Inspired by Minyelaírë's timeline, here is my own interpretation of the aftermath of the sinking of the boat that would take them to Pelargir.))
Must paddle, must swim... must survive--
Daerundros frantically looked around, engulfed in a sea of rubble and water, as she spat out the salty liquid and grimaced. The blades and the equipment the Noldo-maiden had on her were as light as a feather in her eyes, no weight to be felt as her head and shoulders bobbed on the surface of the water, dark clouds thundering over the wreckages of a once-proud boat, now shattered and tossed mercilessly by the raging waves, left to rot as it slowly submerged under the water, a remnant of Círdan's last handywork. She could not see the faces of her other companions, save her sister, who was clinging onto a piece of stray wood like a lifeline, slowly drifting away from the rubble of the boat. Arivien was right beside her, seeming in panic as they drifted around the wild waves, watching them crash onto rubble, crates, and what-not.
Minyelaírë! Arivien! Swim... must swim... must prevent her from floating away....
Daerundros gritted her teeth as she took the frayed edges of what appeared to be a severed rope and yelled, "Loteriel! Catch!", still bobbing by the water, now clinging onto a long floating log.
Minyelaírë breathed out a sigh of relief as the rope flew to her, and she readily caught it and began to tie it around the wood she was clinging to. Daerundros did the same to her log and soon the sisters' floating support was linked together, to prevent them from being seperated.
"Vardarianna!" Minyelaírë yelled out, stricken with shock and worry, "Vardarianna!"
There was screaming to the left as Daerundros sharply whipped her head around in alarm, seeing Vardarianna's barely un-fathomable figure struggling to keep afloat, already far far away from anything that could she could take hold of. Azad floated next to her, appearing unconscious as a little blood dripped from his head.
Vardarianna! Azad! Must... save.. them!!
"We must save them!" Daerundros called out.
"Swim, Latala'jah!" Minyelaírë yelled, "We shall be with thee!"
And slowly Minyelaírë and Arivien swam side by side, grunting in effort as the both of them looked at the two helpless Secondborn. Daerundros swam to a large, destroyed wall, once belonging to the boat, and clambered onto it, pulling the rope which tied the log and the two Elves to her, and dropping her precious blades and belongings as Minyelaírë and Arivien climbed onto the wall-mast, coughing. Daerundros dived in just as Azad had regained consciousness, and began to writhe and kick wildly with his feet.
"My leg, I cannot get it out! It is stuck!" He yelled frantically, grunting in pain.
The fool!
Swimming out with the piece of log; Daerundros swam slowly to Vardarianna and Azad, and pushed the log towards them. Vardarianna, with surprising strength, grunted in effort as she pulled Azad towards the log, gripping it tightly. Daerundros hastily swam back to the mast that had Arivien and Minyelaírë on them, and called out to them,
"Quickly! Pull them towards us!"
Arivien and Minyelaírë hastily complied as Daerundros and the both of them began pulling the heavy log with their rope, heaving.
Slowly Azad and Vardarianna were pulled onto the mast, the thunder and lightning all around them as the rain poured down heavily. Daerundros yelled as a large wave, taller than at least twenty-metres, approached them.
"It is hopeless!" Minyelaírë yelled out, "The waves shall engulf us!"
"No!" Came screaming from Vardarianna, holding onto Minyelaírë for dear life, all five companions now holding tightly onto each other, as the wave came crashing down with a mighty crash and submerged them all into the waters of Belegaer. Daerundros briefly saw all her friends, unconscious, underwater with her, before her thoughts were extinguished and she blacked out into unconsciousness.
