What's important to know about Bree is its constant change of power, as quick as a group may rise and be the greatest influence inside those walls, is as quick as they fall, and fall they often do. There will always be others who seek to take what belongs to his fellow man. This trend that casts over Bree is a magnificent wonder, and one that can earn spies vast amounts of coin assuming they're wise enough to know the rising forces.
Unfortunately, this time we were the falling power, so long had we battled and caused distress to Bree that our incomes began to lose faith in us, merchants began to use alternative mercenaries, contracts fell to other hands, the coin stopped flowing inward. Soon enough, those able to foresee that which was coming would disappear. Normally the older and wiser who had seen, time and time again Bree consume its latest kindred, would go first, then it filters down the ranks. My position in Avasa was never too high and by the time it had crept its way down to us, the damage was done and not beyond notice of the great many who sought our downfall. If our people did not disappear, or leave the ranks, they were soon found dead, news reached us about Jack, he had been slain somehow, Esclyn was never to be found and what remained refused to come out from hiding.
Towards the very end, Emmelin had become leader, our ranks had fallen so dire and she did fine for some time. Our numbers where deserting us, but she managed to hire more to replace them but sure enough, Bree had to finish its meal entirely. Official notice came, we had disbanded, no more bound by code or contract but free to do as we pleased. Most went on to reform groups of their own, if i recall, three different kindred circles came of it but non had the fabric that I so desired. Emmelin went her way and by this point I had lost my use of her, so I cast her aside. I had lost my love, Avasa. All so Bree could please its appetite and continue its ever consuming cycle.
