Dear diary... day four is upon me...
I woke up to the sound of snow falling outside the cave. I reached for my warm cloak and stepped out into the blinding white landscape. It took a few moments for my eyes to adjust, but when they did, I realized that my worst fear had come true. My pony was gone!!
I frantically searched the area, hoping that maybe she had wandered off to graze, but there was no sign of her. My heart sank as I realized that I was now stranded in this snowy cave without my faithful companion. How could I have been so careless? I should have tied her up with something better than a stick before I fell asleep.
With a heavy heart, I gathered my supplies and prepared to set off on foot. I knew that the only way to reach the shire was to leave the misty mountains and make my way to Rivendell, but I for one, didn't even know where to begin... It was going to be a long and treacherous journey, but I had no choice.
after a while of walking, I could barely see my own feet in front of me. The cold was starting to seep into my bones, and I knew I had to keep moving if I wanted to survive. I then trudged through the snow, my feet sinking deep into the powder with each step.
As the day wore on, I began to doubt if I would ever make it to Rivendell. The thought of never seeing my home again and being lost in these mountains filled me with despair. But I couldn't give up. I had to keep going.
after a long and stressful walk, as I was shivering and using my warm cloak to bundle into, I could see the faint outline of a forest in the distance. It must be the edge of the misty mountains. I pushed myself harder, my body aching and my feet freezing. But the sight of the forest gave me hope and renewed my strength. As I entered the forest, I could feel the temperature rising and the snow starting to fade. I felt as if I was getting closer to Rivendell. so I pressed on as my determination grew with every step.
I could hear the sound of a river nearby. I followed the sound and soon came upon a beautiful waterfall, with a bridge leading to the other side. I knew this had to be the entrance to Rivendell. Tears of relief and joy filled my eyes as I crossed the bridge and entered the strange city. but mostly I was just trying to find a fireplace so I could warm up...
as I kept going, I came across this big weird-looking home... I had surely never seen a home this big... as I climbed the stairs, I was then welcomed with open arms by tall folk with knife-shaped ears. (who would think tall folk had pointy ears like me) They then offered me food, warmth, and a place to rest. after I woke up from my nap, I told them my story and they promised to help lend me a pony.
My heart was filled with gratitude as I knew that I was safe here in Rivendell. I spent the next few days resting and recovering as I enjoyed the company of the elves (as they called themself). But I couldn't stay for long. I had to continue on my journey.
The elves kept their promise and helped me find a new pony. I couldn't thank them enough for their kindness. I mean after all my feet were kinda sore from that long walk in the mountains... With my new pony, I left Rivendell and continued on my journey.
I couldn't help but think about what lies ahead, and this time I was using something better than some stupid stick if I needed to tie her up.
