Letters, Lilacs, Kittens and Cats

Saelud stares in horror at what Clay told him before a nervous laugh finally escapes him, "You told them that?" His hand goes to his mouth as more laugher starts coming from him, "I'm sorry but lad you are so small. Saying that is like having a kitten trying to take on a bear. I would have told them no at some point when my courage returned. You did not have to step in for me, but thank you for doing so." He watches as the young lad shrugs, his hand petting a small ginger cat that had curled up his lap while he sat on the steps. "You are going to get me in trouble you know. You are a good lad but you have a problem. You are always having things go wrong." When the boy slowly signs out 'Not a fault of mine' which takes him a bit to read as he had been learning from the boy how to understand them and had not started learning but a month or two before. "For as long as I have known you, something always happens. Always. I can time my day on it. If I see you something has or will happen."

Sae stands and brushes off his tunic, the cat taking off to find another person to beg for attention from. "I know you wished to pay me back for the lilacs but you do not have to. I brought them to you in apology. There is nothing for you to apologize for. " His dark brow raises as the boy shrugs again and moves his hands to speak. It takes him a moment to sort of understand what was said, "I am glad you care but, I would not want you getting hurt either. This person could turn on you for what you did." Yet another shrug in reply has his sighing. "Lad, you have no fear right now but I know you enough to know what would happen. Let us forget this though. I know you have not been in Bree for too long. How would you like to join me for a Hallows Eve party....thing...I would not know what to call it. We could bring some friends and baked goods and the night of,  go out and see if anything scary happens." His look quickly takes on a serious expression as the red-haired lad grinned wickedly. "With that in mind, I am not telling you where we would go beforehand. Your jests might just make you have to use those rusty healing skills of yours because you scared someone to death."  A snort comes at the shaking of a head to his words.

He stretches, his bones popping a bit in the cold air as a breeze carries some leaves by. "Walk with me at least. I need to make sure these letters are dropped off before the evening comes." His footsteps echo on the cobblestone as his sword clinks lightly against his tunic from it's placed in his belt. The wind pushes at the few strands of his hair not tied back as it races through the alleyway in shorts sprints. A hand grabs his tunic as he is followed and the stumbling sound behind lets him know that his friend's hair has blinded them for a few moments. He slows to let them see again before pushing forward. His arm holding the flap on the bag he wore down so the letters would not fly away. The wind moves again to a gentle breeze suddenly and they make their way to the inn. He slips inside, Clay not far behind as he sets the letters down, a few being handed to him for the outer farms. "Thank you, I'll get these out as soon as I can." He looks them over and hands one to Clay. He holds back a look as the lad gives him a lost look over what to do with it until he happens to read his own name on the front. His resolve fails and he starts laughing as soon as the other looks like he just found out that leather can and does indeed come from cows. He shakes his head and walks out the door.

Wolfthorn moves over to a patterned horse and slips the letters into the bag on their saddle. "You amuse me to no end. You are smart, very smart as a healer. Way smarter than me but you have your moments." He watches as Clay sticks his tongue out at him before he does the same in return with a laugh. "Alright. Drinks are on you now. I'll pay for the meal...or maybe a pie. A pie sounds swell. Meat or fruit?" The redhead clearly thinks for a moment before making the sign he had come to understand as 'cow'. "Beef pie it is than if they have one." His footsteps once again echo but heavier this time as he jogs along the cobblestone to a small building. He holds the door open for his companion to enter first. "Thank you for what you have done for me.  It is clear that Lilacs were a wise choice..."
