Chapter 1 : The merriment of Childhood Part III

(Audio is set to compliment the ambiance)

The boy finished his lunch in a dash of wind, and later he sought excitement, for he jumped off from his seat, getting himself away from the dining table. "Hey, brave rider! Where are you going?" His mother laughed in jest, seeing his son wandered aimlessly, running around the tiny house they lived. Their house were small yet homely, boasted a mere four hundred and eighty square foot size. His father, Baldbearh was just finishing up on his own meal while watching his son scattering his feet around the room, then he laughed his own, "Oh come now, Hildveth. Let the boy has his fun." He spoke towards his wife as he stood up, cleaning his lips from the meal he just had. His beard was shaven which made this aged man seemed younger in his days, then he added, "Well, here is where I need to fulfill my pledge to our young brave rider, I'll be back before the sun falls. Don't miss me while I'm gone!" He smirked, then embraced the lady's neck, wrapping his arm around and offered a peck on her head covered in her blond hair. She chuckled at his husband's gesture, hugging him in return only by the hips since she was still sat and he stood. "How can I not miss you, your love is daring and bold, any lady would've swooned the moment she met you in bed." She jested and added, "That doesn't mean you should woo any lady you could find!" She whispered as she let a small chuckle. His smirk would only brighten for that, but now his attention carried to the boy, with ease he grabbed him as he was still running around the house, casting a hectic sense throughout the tiny shack. "Ha! got you, a rider without his horse are always helpless." The boy, Helm merely chuckled from his dad's action. "Go, pack yourself and I'll meet you outside. Don't forget to say farewell to your mother." He dropped the boy onto the ground and he nodded to the two with a smile as he headed outside. The boy quickly ran to the attic as it was his room, and shortly after lunged from above and fell on his feet with a loud thud, flinching her mother in shock and a gasp escaping her lips. "Gosh, Helm! Careful with your legs!" The boy didn't heed her warning yet he ran to his mother, landing a soft peck to her cheek. "Bye, ma I love you!" The boy exclaimed and with a dash he vanished from the room. Hildveth merely shook her head and chuckled with it.

The boy was met by his father talking to another folk, a neighboor it seemed for another house was set just across his. His eyes were also delighted by the view of the village. It was a small village, yet many folks could be seen walking the road, and the fields were covered in unripe crops. Across his house, there was a market bustling with crowds of different faces. One was blond and fair, another was brown and darkly colored hair. This was one of the trade between Broadacres and Stonedeans, and here wildmen dwelled in peace with the horsefolks.

"Helm!" A distant voice was heard, it was the voice of a girl for it was shrill, and none other the girl was Cereneld, the boy's dearest friend. "Cer? Cer! I didn't know you were by this village!" The boy exclaimed in joy, his eyes were brighten to see her. "Mhm! Ma decided to visit my aunt this morn, and I cannot! be bothered by the long talk they muttered, so I reasoned and they asked me to bring some herbs from miss Salwyn." The girl smiled, and you could've sworn that her face was flustered to utter those last words, but the boy only saw his dearest friend, and for it he was glad. "Then say hello for me to miss Salwyn, will you? Oh and, want to join us by the woods after? Pa and I will have a stroll by the woods!" Cereneld's eyes were widen for a moment, "oh the woods?! No fair, I wish I could go there... But we are leaving before night falls.." Her lips undoubtedly frowned, more that she could not spend her time with the boy. "Ah.. shame.. Well, I'll see you three days from now?" Cereneld smiled at his response, just before they could continue, Baldbearh already called for Helm's return. "Oh, I have to vanish now. See you at the shack!" He quickly ran for his father and Cereneld became smaller in the background and soon faded from his gaze. "Are you ready, young rider? We go on horseback!" The boy, hearing the father's word only proved his excitement more from his gesture, and shortly after they left the bustling village, heading to the vast green meadow and onto the forests.
