A Bard's Tale: The Rabbit and Hare

Once upon a time there was a little rabbit, small and white as the new fallen snow. It had always been a cheerful little rabbit, always singing and dancing. But one day, the rabbit lost its spirit and set out to find it again.
The rabbit found a badger bathing at the river and approached.
"Dear badger, I've lost my spirit and I cannot find it. Will you help me?"
The badger scoffed "I owe you no favours, rabbit. Go away and don't bother me again. Come back and I will eat you."
The rabbit got scared and ran away to find someone else. It came across a hawk up in the tree and stopped to speak.
"Dear hawk, I've lost my spirit and I cannot find it. Will you help me?"
The hawk glared "I owe you no favours, rabbit. Go away and don't bother me again. Come back and I will eat you."
Scared, the rabbit ran away again to find someone else to help. It soon found a fox and asked.
"Dear fox, I've lost my spirit and I cannot find it. Will you help me?"
The fox grinned a toothy grin and said "Of course, little rabbit. I know where your spirit has gone and I can show you where to find it."
The rabbit lid up and smiled "Where, dear fox? Where is my spirit?"
"It came here and hid in my den. Come in and get it back." The fox said, showing the little rabbit where the den was.
The happy rabbit hopped forth but stopped when it heard a voice behind them.
"The fox is tricking you, little rabbit. He will eat you!" Said the hare "Quick, run away!"
Scared, the rabbit ran away and the hare followed, the two leaving the fox behind with a sour frown now that he wouldn't have any dinner to eat.
"Foolish little rabbit." The hare said when they had stopped. "What were you doing crawling into a fox's den?"
The rabbit sat down and cried "I've lost my spirit and I cannot find it, no one will help me." It said.
The hare smiled and kissed the rabbit's head "Don't worry, little rabbit. I will help you find it."
Smiling again, the rabbit thanked the large hare and the two ventured off into the world to find the rabbit's lost spirit. Till this day the two travel in search for the lost spirit, unaware that it was never lost to begin with.
