The familytree and friendships

Hereby the characters that have appeared in the stories of the Woodmen, some by the mind of actual people RL others not so much. They all have had their part to play at some point and I believe it's due that there's some clarification on who is who. Not all important characters have been named yet, for a variety of reasons and so I shan't give their names on behalf of this work. Anyways let's begin!

Tunaraz: Tribal chieftain in Honungmaerc, an aging man, but still with many years ahead of him. He is the father of Whunjo and Uhruz, husband to both their mothers. However since the passing of his first wife he has found it hard to be on good terms with Uhruz, his first.

Uhruz' mother: The first wife of Tunaraz, passed away for many years. She is rumoured to be a giant that Tunaraz wed by the young folk of the tribe. To the elders she was, indeed a strong woman from the mountains. Good natured, tall and strong, indeed even among elders rumours linger around her past.

Whunjo's mother: She was to be married to Tunaraz as a second wife. A redheaded beauty in her youth, virile into her aging days and quite cunning mostly she has ensured that she was also Tunaraz last wife. She is head of the women's council and takes a chief role mostly as her husband is away. For all her best attempts, she never quite managed to be a mother for Uhruz aswell.

Uhruz: One of the best warriors of the tribe, a man of monstrous proportions with a strong constitution and powerful limbs. Let his dull wit not mistake you, he knows how to wage wars upon the threats of the land. His father spares him little compliments, his men however made ritual of trying to surpass him in battle. Not all survive it.

He is a simple man, taking comfort in food, women and sleep. Above all he loves his younger brother most, for indeed he is of the firm belief that his brother is always right in everything, all the time, even when things go horribly wrong.

Whunjo: A landowner of the tribe, a man with ambitions, a leader of his people. Husband to three women and father to all their children. Cunning, spiritual, broad of limb and capable in most things he sets his mind to. Whunjo is the youngest son of Tunaraz, the pride of his own father.

There are no specifications to bring about the man. He is very active and hard to keep track of in his dealings and ongoings. What he prefers most seems to be his familylife, which is arguably a succesful one and to farm the land.

Hagalaz: Whunjo's first wife, a marriage of convenience brought them together as she is the daughter of the second most succesful family of the tribe. She accepted her role diligently and while the relationship between her and her husband is one of duty there is no regret for her as her children and bearing more are perhaps her biggest joy. She commands much respect from her people and takes to keeping fueds to a minimum. A matriarch of sorts that uses her husband's wealth and status for stimulating the local market.

Walkure: A goldenhaired beauty once, now battlehardened and forever scarred by combat. Shieldmaiden she is, protector of Whunjo's lands and trainer of young warriors. She and Whunjo married out of nothing short of passion. Once the men were sent off to wage battle with raiders in the land and one day on such a day, she came with him home. She is rather introverted mostly and has little time for smalltalk. Her relationship with Hagalaz is one of cooperation, rarely ever have these women been at odds for others to see.

Sjunnuz/Sjunnaz: The youngest of the three wives of Whunjo, she is by all means a loner that prefers to dwell in the dark forest. She's known as a mixer of potions and poultices. Often found in clearings and at the root of the greatest trees near the lands of Tunaraz. She's light on her feet, often merry and her hair is so blonde that it takes on the hue of snow. Whunjo goes to visit her when he needs to be alone and at ease from his duties. Such none too irregular visits had seen her pregnant one day and eventually married too.

The children:

With Hagalaz:

Fridleifr: Nearly an exact copy of his father. He swaggers in the same fashion, laughs the same and deals with the other children the same. Yet where his father is keen to befriend, Fridleifr can be reserved and haughty like his mother.

Svafa: The only daughter of this union, she is talkative and motherly in her behaviour. She seems to have a talent for making just decisions that can please both parties.

Woede: Rumour has it that this temperamental boy has the spirit of a wild animal living in him. Already he has grown the size of Fridleifr in spite of being three years younger. In so many ways, he reminds most people of Uhruz.

Hwittirafn: Too young yet to do more than be at his mother's breast.

With Walkure,

Skafi : Nimble, sharp of eye and outspoken, he's got every trait a rogue could want. He's keen to prove himself ready for manhood to his father.

Tiw:  Brooding, introverted and always having his wooden sword at hand. He spends most days by himself or with his mother. It's rare to see him express emotion.

Hermod: Energetic and the only of his brothers who's white hair has a hue of Whunjo's red in them. He loves to run and has a talent for reading even at his young age.

 With Sjunnaz

Feyoh and Uylaz: Twin daughters, they are too young to spend their time anywhere else than with their mother or eachother.

Taranix: A familyfriend of Tunaraz' household, often called "uncle" by Whunjo and Uhruz for they have often lived with the man in his own hall. He is a modest chieftain, fit to maintain the status quo of his tribe's existance till better or worse men inherit his throne.

He is a good-humoured man. His belly round from bountiful harvests and his hair like silver. He often jokes and pokes fun to get reactions out of others. His outrage and disdain is reserved for those he considers fools or those with malice on their minds.

Forseti: The father of Hagalaz, a wealthy man in the tribe, running a stable of hounds. Guarding hounds, hunting hounds and so forth. A childhood friend of Tunaraz and together men that have seen their share of hardship. Little is yet known of the man in the stories.

Forseti's wife: /

Kalf: A man passionate for the hunt and very fond of the beasts of his father has seen him a fearless hunter. However fearless indeed he is , because in his recklesness the man does rarily return without some grievous injury. He is as a brother to Whunjo and Uhruz and his loyalty would be of no question if unfortunately the man seems to have been sinking away in a madness that has caught hold of him. His fair heart perhaps being the one thing from him abandoning his people altogether for a lifetime in the wildernesse. His daughter Asatrid he has little eye for and is atleast in part raised by Hagalaz and Whunjo these days. Kalf is in possession of his loyal hunting dog Gelert, rumour goes that both can communicate with eachother and Kalf is slowly turning into a hound himself..

Kalf's wife: /

Asatrid: A young girl that has been on her first adventure at the age of perhaps five. Her father had deemed it to be 'good sport' and since he was seen responsible so be it. She has been hardened by her adventure for certain. And she learned of the dangers outside of the mighty walls of her tribe, but also the beauties the earth has to offer and there those teachings on the spirits she received from Whunjo.

She has survived where many others would have perished, one can only wonder in what sort of woman she'll grow up into. She also has her own loyal guardian like her father, Freki the dog.

Ursell the She-Bear: A young woman of the north that had found her company with the others on their journey. She has returned back into Wilderland, her residence somewhere among the trees. Known to be quiet and observant, yet also hardy and who knows what goes on in her mind?

Wulfaz: A young man and twin brother to Kenaz. Easily the most eager to prove himself as a warrior, always demanding a task when danger is near. Always picking fights with the more formidable tribesmen. Instinctive and fit, there is fairly little to hold him back from doing great things if his temper does not get the better of him.

Kenaz the Torch: Twin of Wulfaz, a young woman that had lost her heart along the journey to a foreign poet. Little is known of what they have shared together among the others. Her loyalities have been split between her own people or those of her love. How it played out in the end remains a mystery.

Ulfrid: Tunaraz' champion, the prime fighter of the tribe, a loyal shieldbrother and second in command of his chieftain when it comes to affairs of war. Even in his aging days, this man is a grizzled powerhouse. Temperate, dutiful, loyal and painfully honest. His personal life isn't addressed in the story. This man is however born for his tasks to the tribe.

Kirstjaan:  A man of the mountains, a temporary traveling companion of the Woodmen. For the time he has been with them he has seen them safe, reading the land and finding the best spots to go through with as little obstruction as is possible. He departed from them a friend and bid them well on their journey perhaps a week before the Woodmen themselves returned home.

Froeydis the Drakeling: A young girl, proud and fair. The daughter of Skjalddis, a chieftain somewhere south of the Grey Mountains. She and her ferret Unvesn have come through the journey alive and well. Looking up to her step-father Alfknutr and her mentor Whunjo she has followed the company with a will. She has left the Woodmen several days after arriving in their village to go further on her own journey.

Alfknutr: A patient soul that seems to be a guide by nature. He is an adventurer by heart and there are rumours of him having dealing with Elves. He is easy to talk with and has found himself oddly enough to be the adopted father of Froeydis. None really asked him how it happened, as circumstance must've surely prevented it. Or is that him being wisely avoiding the matter?

Elgiz: Salt of the earth among the Woodmen, he sports a fine long beard and speaks preferably with the cudgel he rests on his shoulder. He is always adorned in trophies of the hunt, used as talismans and rarely does he speak on any matter in particular. He accepts his fate wherever it may bring him and rather enjoys not having to think much on anything.

Brondaz: One of the leaders of the "Shadow-Walkers", a select warriorcult that is allowed to live on Tunaraz land in exchanges of protection for all manner of material goods. He's a giant of a man, muscle lies thick on his big bones and he does live up for his reputation as a capable warleader. Not many in the villages know him and his men, only those who guard the borders of the tribal lands get regular contact with them.
