Second entry. Unfortunately, I am not going to write here every day. This diary is for special occasions. And one happened recently.
The town is going mad, for unknown reason. First I've heard rumors that some unrest is settling between the town folk and the Watch. Something with custody warrants and jailing of conspirators. Unfortunate, these particular events slipped me gently, all I did was patrolling street at my usual.
Last day, in the early morning, I came back to jail from patrol, expecting to just take off my wear and relax for a bit. Unfortunately, the first thing I see is a gathering of people near one of the cells. That was just the start of what I thought would be a simple distress that will solve in a few moments. I went to check the desk and see if Sir Nygell or Sir Fletwood left me anything to complete, as they usually do. It is sometimes hard to cover people whose work is slightly beyond your knowledge and level of experience. As I found nothing, it was...well...it was not pleasant. I wanted to do something, I am not in the guard for nothing.
That is when I decided to check on what is happening by the cell. By the time I got to the cell, I saw that most of people already left, just I thought. Yeah, it all escalated just as quickly as I though, but, maaa, that was not the end. More people started coming in, but now I simply overhear and oversee everything on the side. A man was murdered. A fellow Watcher who spend past hours unsettling this madness, now had to deal with the dead body. That is when I stepped in and gladly accepted to take one burden off his shoulders.
Poor me, only if I knew what I was setting myself for. Yes, indeed, dead body of someone I don't know. All mashed like potatoes. And a dagger. I am not good with analysing anything so I called for guards with a stretcher and healers. On this, I dismissed the crow and left to take on further duties if I have to.
This one particular man has been sitting on my nerves for the whole day. He triple ignored incoming order of dismissal, deciding to follow me all the way out of the town and then back in. Unfortunately, I was in no state of tolerating disobedience, so I fined him. Then I parted my ways with him
I gave up by the afternoon. I did not sleep the whole yesterday evening, the whole night and the whole morning. I had to get some rest, or else I am a walking dead with a blush. I hope everything settles in the next few days. .
