Welcome Back, Friend

Eliad glanced around the inn as soon as he stepped in. Recently, he had gotten a letter from his friend, Tahandil, that he had returned and was staying at the Pony. Deciding that he would visit him, Eliad had gone to the inn. Seeing that no one had resembled his friend, Eliad sighed softly before going to the fireplace. His attention shifted to the flames, not paying attention that someone had walked up behind him.

"So...," said a familiar voice behind him. "I see nothing's changed here. The most excitement you get is watching dancing flames."

Eliad blinked, having to be broken out of his trance, and glanced at the heavily armored man over his shoulder. He turned to face him afterwards, squinting his eyes.

"...Mister Tahandil..?" asked Eliad.

"I would hope so," chuckled Tahandil, taking his helmet off to reveal his features more.

"Well, I'll be damned," smiled Eliad, resting his hand on his hip lightly. "If you didn't say anything, I would've mistaken you as a total stranger with all that armor on."

"Yes," smiled Tahandil, nodding. "I meant to take it off but haven't had the time...and... Well, from me to you... I am quite lazy."

He added a chuckle after his words.

"I trust that all is well wherever you had gone to now?" asked Eliad, gesturing to Tahandil's armor with his free hand. "Or are they going to expect you back?"

"It depends really," replied Tahandil, shrugging. "I just await my next letter."

"I see...," said Eliad, nodding. He then smiled. "Well, it's good to have you back either way."

"It's good to be back," replied Tahandil. "The smell of Bree never stops to amaze me."

"Perhaps so of others," chuckled Eliad lightly. "I, too, have been busy."

Tahandil raised a brow at Eliad's words.

"Getting hurt?" whispered Tahandil. "No, not that. I wasn't here to save you so it must be something else, I guess."

"Oi," said Eliad, crossing his arms. "I've been decently careful on my part. Though, what I meant is perhaps not to be talked here."

Tahandil nodded and motioned for the back.

"Shall we then?" asked Tahandil.

"Sure," answered Eliad, nodding. That would be good."

Tahandil started for the back, Eliad following him. They were going to a room in the back. However, Tahandil suddenly stopped at a doorway.

"Erm..," said Eliad. "Something wrong?"

Tahandil raised a brow then bowed his head.

"My apologies, madam," said Tahandil. "We will take another room."

The two had gone upstairs to a room before entering inside. The room had reminded Eliad of the times where he had unfortunate events happening to him that had required for him to get treated.

"Well, this brings memories," said Eliad, glancing around the room.

"Yes," chuckled Tahandil. "Yes, it does."

"Let's see...," said Eliad, crossing his arms. "Where to start..?"

Tahandil began to take off his armor and change.

"Go on," said Tahandil. "I am listening."

Eliad looked at him before looking away, rubbing the back of his head. He had begun to speak of the events that had transpired such as him being kidnapped by Iriul and a trip that Eliad had made with others. After he had done with letting Tahandil know of what had happened, they had begun to speak casually now. It was only then that Eliad had felt relaxed, happy that his friend was home for the time being.
