IV. The battle of Minas Eriol

Narquelië 3018 T.A. Stewards Reckoning, RedStable

Unfortunate you are if you read these notes for excitement, for few you will find of that. I tried to safe whatever I could, but I am too late. Much of what was, is lost. The mysteries revealed more riddles than solving them, these letters have no other purpose than storing the history of my kin.

After we found the stone, much of worry we got. We discussed the purpose of the stone, but it appeared Ancthans arm was poisoned. Corrupted, like it would have been with a morgul blade. It saddens me we never got to know more about the stone, and I can already tell it wouldn't play a big part in this story anymore. The ful force of the Red Company traveled to Minas Eriol, recommended by Arstelle, that time an important lady of our order. Of all possible culprits, we suspected goblins the most, for we related the disease and the stone's corruption with an ancient sickness of Moria, which now has been hidden with a dark smell, deeply in the earth.

There in Minas Eriol, recently taken by the goblins from the Eglain, we fought greatly, and the adrenaline  streamed in our bodies. The shields and the though warriors led, followed by our marksmen and special forces, divided in two lines. Our swords swung like a morning spring, while our bows sounded as nightingales, the axes came down like Tulkas' wrath. That night, much of blood had flown in the dark sky of the night.

Finally, after teaching the goblins a lesson or two, we picked one out and took him apart. We tortured him, then we killed. Few he knew to say about the stone, but Ancthans arm could only be healed by the elves. This we could have known beforehand, though. Pleasure we got in the fight, but that day was a disappointment.
