A Report to Tur Elisbeth

(Left on Tur Elisbeth’s desk)

Tur Elisbeth-

Having heard rumor in the Hall of Fire of some gigantic beast haunting the northern passes of the Hithaeglir, Thendryt Morson and I ventured out to see if there was any truth in the rumor.  A Man in the Hall of Fire had declared that he would hunt the creature to repay the hospitality he’d been given at Imladris.  Knowing the nature of the creatures in the Hithaeglir, Thendryt and I were also keeping an eye out for the Man’s body, which we did not discover.

What we did discover was a monstrous giant right outside of Hrimbarg.  This being looks to be twice the size of any giant either of us has seen before.  Thendryt and I carefully skirted around it.  It is his opinion, and mine, that it would take a full banner to deal with this threat.

We also discovered, close to High Crag, a being which I thought might possibly be the source of the beast rumor, a Guaradan, but of giant size.  I’ve encountered huge Guaradan before, Seers mostly, but nothing this large.  Thendryt and I both agreed that, while smaller than the giant and not requiring a banner, this creature would have required more prowess than the two of us alone could muster, so we skirted this creature as well.

We had intended to scout further, but a late spring blizzard blew up and we felt it was best to return to Imladris while we might to give report.  Given their propensity for dressing themselves in pelts, it is likely that the giant Guaradan is indeed the source of the beast rumor, but I feel uneasy.  We were not really able to penetrate into the Giant’s Valley at all and I would like to scout the whole area further.  These creatures are bad enough in and of themselves, and if there are actually more about, the Warband needs to know that they might be dealt with.

Thendryt did not wish to append my report in written form, but he stands ready to relay you his observations in person.

Lilleduil,
Leutha Mathor
