The night was short. I had a long day yesterday and it was late when we decided to sleep. Prithbo and I were not disturbed that night by brigands. Who would come in the middle of the night to a brigand campfire if there's nothing to worry about? Not that it is a good situation for the brigands that Prithbo and I raided one of their camps, but that they do not know. So the next day we moved on to the Blackwold headquarthers for the information we looked for. In fact, we were not even sure if there was information, but we highly suspected that the brigands were related to the wargs. That morning we left the camp. Hopefully they won't notice too fast the empty camp, but he had to leave it. It was only a short while yet before we reached the headquarthers. Prithbo and I did not spoke much in that while because it was very important to not be discovered. Prithbo pushed away some bushes and there it was! I was still upset that a hobbit even wanted to go so deep into the fray, but it did not matter at that moment. We sneaked to the entrance and we investigated. I climbed on a large stone by setting one foot on a root. There i lied down and i looked to the entrance, when a brigand was leaving. I turned my face to Prithbo to arrange a tactic, but when i looked, the hobbit directed his crossbow already to the brigand and he lost a shot. that one shot was sufficient to let the watcher fall down.
The hobbit immediately ran into the entrance so i got no choice. i jumped from the stone and tried to keep the hobbit by. It was not too busy in the camp and when i arrived by the hobbit he whistled me: "What do we do now?! Were do we find that information?" I shrugged. "Don't know, let's just go ahead, we'll see." When going on, I catches a large keep into my eye. The walls were high, made of the old Arnorian stones which all ruins in Bree-land here seems to be made of. It had two entrances with small bridges before it. There was a canal so if we wanted to enter the building, we had to cross one of the bridges. Prithbo saw the keep as well and proposed: "I'll take one side of the keep. You take the other! We'll spread us!" I gave a short nod and i continued the road before me. When looking back, i saw the hobbit returning from the road we came from. Then i looked before me. Someone came, so i hid me. I sneaked behind a pillar. The villain passed and i took one of the javelins on my back. I coordinated my throw. The Blackwold was ambushed, but still alive, so I sprinted and made a high jump. I hit him full in his belly, but it was a though fellow and he tried to strike me with his mace! I could in the nick block his attack with my small shield. I always take small shields, since it is easier to travel with. My shield creaked, but my shield got already more scratches, so it wasn't a very big problem. I stayed very concentrated before him and evaded his next attempt to hurt me. Immediately, I jumped agile behind him and ended the life of the lad. With my blade, i quickly swung my blade to his neck. I hesitated a little bit and the brigand tried to resist, but i cut his throat. That's my preferred way of killing. I continued once again. Another of the brigands was sleeping, but i wanted to enter the building as quick as possible and sneaked along him. I crossed the bridge. There wasn't anything to prevent someone from falling down into the water. Between me and the gate stood only one bowman. I sprinted once again while preparing my shield arm! The brigand lost a shot and i reacted quickly. I coordinated where the arrow was going to land and I held my shield before me. I felt the reaction but i went ahead while roaring to strike fear into the hearth of my rival there. The Blackwold spanned her bow again. (between the Blackwolds seems to be women as well.) Though her next attempt to kill me failed again. I now reached the Blackwold and i did one large hew. She seemed not to be so though as the previous one. nor to be so skilled with melee-weapons. Anyway, she fell and i entered the building. I held my sword in my hand. There was nothing anymore. Perhaps Prithbo passed here, but then he was quickly. I crossed the courtyard and quickly ran on the stairs on the other side. Behind the corner was very much noise. Clearly a fight was going on! I jumped in the middle of the fight and hacked in a man with a similar beard as mine. He did not attempt to resist any of the blows anymore. It seemed that he was already weakened very much, since i could count three or four arrows in his body. He fell on the ground, but even before he did, i looked to the hobbit, while swinging with my blade yet. Then i put it in my scabbard. "Well done Prithbo. It seems that you cleared the courtyard and the other bridge without me!" But the hobbit answered: " Let's quickly look for any sign of those wargs, before Blackwolds come yet!" So we looked in the camp. I saw some crates and I wanted to look into it. I quickly turned me to the hobbit: "would you guard when I look into those crates here?" In fact, I did not know what he did. I did not look to his answer and turned me again to the crates. I threw many papers and writings away because the had nothing to do with our concern today and most of it does not even consist any of interesting information about other stuff. Poets and tales. It seems that the brigands themselves are really annoyed in this forest as well. But I finally found a book with a title, reminding something about wargs. "This it must be!" called I loud out. Prithbo looks apprehensive around him. "We should leave now before the ruffians come back!" We heard already noise and ran quickly away with the book. I glanced quickly into it. It seemed to be a kind of diary of a sergeant here. We wanted to enter the bridge were Prithbo passed and the brigands were obviously going to take the same bridge from the courtyard. But on the other side were brigands approaching as well and soon, we were will be trapped!. "Let's fight us through them!" called Prithbo. But i said: "No! I have a much better idea!" I took a run-up and jumped from the bridge! I made a great dive and the water approached very quickly. But remind that i was approaching the water. Completely wet, I waded to the dry. I looked behind me and I determined that the bridge was very high. I saw the hobbit jumping down as well, and I feared that he should be hurted. But he landed alright and we fled out of the Camp. Since then, there was not problem anymore and two days later, we are here in our room of the Combe and Wattle Inn. Now, we are going to investigate the diary we acquired.
