It does not take a large bag to hold all of Neyaa's belongings. In her haste she does not pack too carefully either. Looking around she's satisfied she has everything bar one thing. Heading into the bedroom she lifts up the pillow and picks up her dagger and slides it into the sheath on her gauntlet.
The thought never crosses her mind to take anything with her that doesn't belong to her, she is so choked she is aware of nothing save for the beat of her own heart. She mulls over the events of the last few days. What has become of her, tears, fleeting moments of jealousy? Trouble has always found her, but now she was bringing it to the only person she ever cared about. But was that the only reason to leave? if she is honest with herself...no it was not. Slinging her bag over her shoulder she heads towards the door and locks it carefully behind her, looking at the key she contemplates posting it through the mailbox but decides against it. Instead she scribes a short note, to say she's at the farm and needs time to think, if he wants to come by and pick up his key.
It was true enough that he asked her to stay when he caught up with her on the road yesterday, but there was something missing, he spoke all the right words but they lacked any conviction, as if he knew things had run their course. Neyaa reasoned she was a simple girl who never asked for much and that's exactly what she got. She was deeply troubled yesterday, she wanted him to stay and comfort her, make her believe that he did not want her to go, but pride prevented her from asking for these reassurances and he never gave them in a way that made her believe he meant it. He left her cloaked in doubt to go back to the Pony to drink himself senseless and never came home all night. She would never try and change a man, but if she is not the most important thing in his life, then she's out of it.
She will not afford herself any hope that he will come for her. Throwing her bag onto her horse she easily climbs into the saddle and trots her mare on in the direction of Hengstacer, hoping that her room there is still vacant. Captain Hardoleth had kindly offered her a place to stay, but that was before she angered him, it seems she has burned many bridges these past few days.
Don't you dare cry Neyaa Sunngifu....don't you dare cry.
