Dear Mother and Father,
I wash my hands of Jardic. He's stubborn and self-willed and won't listen to reason. I've done my best to stop him from gallivanting off on his adventure but he just insists it will be wonderful and exciting and not dangerous at all. It also seems that everyone is conspiring to make him go. The songs at the last Green Dragon Friday were all about adventures, and at the picnic as well! Only Lina's "There's No Place Like Home" was in any way encouraging to stay. Worst of all, the one person I truly thought would back me up, didn't! I appealed to master Simbo especially to convince Jardic not to go and all he did was wish Jardic a good journey. I felt like I'd been stabbed in the back.

So let Jardic go on his adventure, I won't try to convince him not to any more. It will be good to have him gone, the pantry won't be quite so bare all the time and I won't have to keep cleaning up after him. Also I won't have to hear singing and laughter deep into the night any more because he is sharing stories and songs with Rua. I'm glad he's going. Glad, glad, glad! I can get back to my normal life again and everything will be like it was before.

Did I tell you he'd invited me to the Grand Summer Picnic? Well, he did. Though he was late getting ready for it. Which made me late as well. And then we had barely arrived there when he ran off for goodness knows how long. Though he did bring back some wild strawberries that he shared with me, which was nice, but didn't make up for being late! Master Simbo had a new poem that I was glad Jardic wasn't around to hear. And I did enjoy the dancing, though I didn't take part in the pie-run around the Party Tree. It was lovely to hear the Songburrow Strollers play again, I haven't heard them for a while. Oh, and the fireworks! I don't think I've ever seen so many go off for such a long time in one place! They were amazing! The picnic would have been perfectly wonderful if I hadn't agreed to going with Jardic and if I hadn't been so disappointed in master Simbo.
Your loving Zara
