A Week Long Festival

The Greenwood Festival went on all week. Each evening there were fresh delicacies to try (and a very few to avoid) and the wine never came near running out. We could all relax without any undue pressure, save knowing we would soon be away to Imladris, and then the Greenwood itself.

I thought then that, come next summer, I would have as near a Noldorin celebration for the Gates of Summer as I could. It was pleasing to learn more of each others customs and tastes.

So it seems I am Mistress of Numenstaya.

Not through any doing or grace of my own did this come about. I was simply in the right place at the right time.

We spent a day in Duillond, and walked down by the riverside. I was happy to see him again. Ceuro said he was happy to see me. And we planned to meet again at Numenstaya, after he had completed his work in Mithlond. We would ask if we could rejoin the Lady Danel's household.

Now it was that yester-eve I sat upon the sward overlooking the docks at Celondim, and pondered the courses of my life that had led me to this point.

(Reposted from several years ago . - A short letter to my student, Aearlinn of the Falathrim, on the occasion of Estarfin's suspected 'disappearance' into the  Hithaeglir.)

Aearlinn,

I am sorry to leave this matter to yourself and Serewen, but time is of the essence and I must depart the Vale as soon as possible in search of Lord Estarfin.

As you know, the welfare of that lord from my childhood home is of import to me. It is necessary I do all I may to aid him.

We have no report of Lady Carnifinde’s progress since Aearlinn returned to Tum Escal, seven days ago. That naught of importance had transpired between Forlond and Mithlond is not unexpected.

What now?

We are in Celondim. But what now?

It is good to be back at the Havens again, but not under these circumstances. They say their Lady must take ship as soon as possible. They are not certain she will survive in these lands given her injuries. Will the others accompany her? Will I?

Waiting for instructions.

Then there came a day when I retraced my steps to the small harbour. Much had changed it seemed, though it was only a blink of an eye since I was last there. 'Await me in Celondim', he had said. 'Or if not I, then another you know, and far better, will greet you. May the Lady Uinen ever guide your path, daughter of the Falathrim... and remember..'
