Gæded and Athlenah spent the night upon Weathertop, watching the road for any dangers. The shieldmaiden felt a bit restless whilst they were there, wishing for something to happen so that she couldn't let her mind wander. Nothing did happen, though.

Gæded made a visit to Elias Dimheim at the Blackbird Soothery to return the crutches she had borrowed for a time and to also buy some travelling medicine kits for The Black Steel's next venture. She was curious about the doctor and his studies, asking him a good few questions about his trade.

A tad heartbroken and incredibly frustrated with herself, Gæded found herself sitting at the bar of the Boar for a few days, drowning her sorrows in the form of hard liquor. It may have been longer than she'd thought, maybe a week, but regardless people quickly noticed something was wrong. To start with, no one dared try to speak of her, for she looked like she'd hit them where it hurt if they did, even if her aim was off.
