As one of the few remaining Dunedain Aravas was born in the stronghold of Esteldin. As with all rangers Aravas underwent a daily routine of martial training and field skills from a very early age. The instructors teach each new recruit on an individual basis, this allows them to adjust the training to meet the strengths and weaknesses of their pupil. Aravas showed great promise with the sword and quickly learnt many techniques and skills with both single and two-handed swords. The field skills he learnt allow him and the other Rangers to live unsupported in the wilderness, the same skills used to track and hunt for foods are used to great effect when tracking an enemy. The Dunedain are few and their strongholds are kept in absolute secrecy for this reason all Rangers are instructed in the use of stealth and camouflage to cover his tracks and to lie in wait so that he may ambush his enemy. But his training was not just limited to martial skill; all Rangers are given lessons in the history of not only their people and culture but also of those of other races and cultures. The library at Esteldin is full of manuscripts and ancient books passed down from generation to generation. In these volumes there lies large amounts of information concerning the history of Middle Earth and its peoples, Herblore, cartography, languages and much more. With there extended lifespan the Dunedain are able to learn far more than any normal man and quickly amass a great deal of knowledge and speak Sindarin as well as Westron languages. After coming of age and completing his initial basic training Aravas was given a position as a sentry at Esteldin. Using his keen senses and camouflage Aravas keeps watch over the surrounding countryside for any signs of Orcs moving out from the old city of Fornost towards Trestlebridge or Esteldin. Should any Orcs be spotted the alarm is raised and Rangers can then coordinate a series of ambushes to delay or eliminate them.
