Background
Sigvorn was born in Pinnath Gelin in 2993 TA, as a second son to Sigarond and Aellyn, Lord and Lady of House Drambor. He was close with his parents, but his relationship with his brother Sigahad was always strained. Sigvorn's resentment and Sigahad's arrogance resulted in many heated arguments and physical altercations between the two brothers.
As was befitting a second son, he was set upon the military path soon after his customary education as a child. Having become a page in Dol Amroth at age 10, he spent three years learning courtly manners, rudiments of swordsmanship, histories, laws and heraldry.
At age 13 he was selected to become a white squire under Lord Dallus, himself a Swan Knight, and under him learned the arts of strategy, horsemanship and seafaring. During these years Sigvorn discovered he was a talented fighter, quickly mastering complicated techniques with spear, sword and shield.
As his Squire Master, Lord Dallus had Sigvorn in mind to become a blue squire under him directly and at age 16 began subjecting Sigvorn to various tests openly, but also in secret. During one of these tests it was revealed to Lord Dallus that Sigvorn had been secretly seeing Aedre, the daughter of Almód, a merchant from Edoras who frequented Dol Amroth for his trade. When posed by Lord Dallus with the obligation to abandon his naive love for being far beneath his stature, Sigvorn spent a fortnight in debate with himself before finally deciding to refuse.
After speaking with Sigvorn on the matter, Lord Dallus was severely disappointed and intended to suspend Sigvorn's service as a squire until further notice. However, the argument between the two men escalated out of proportion and ended with Sigvorn leaving in a heated rage.
In his fury, Sigvorn decided to leave Dol Amroth, knowing that he will never be accepted back into his tutelage for his transgressions against his squire master. Sigvorn waited several weeks until Aedre and her father were passing by, and managed to convince Aedre to leave with him. They ran off in the middle of the night and made for the mountain pass to Eriador. After a few years of traveling through Eriador, they finally settled in Bree and with the aid of Aedre’s knowledge and connections, the two started to trade various goods with nearby regions to get by. After a while their trade proved successful and their wonderful life together lasted for another 10 years. In this time Sigvorn and Aedre dedicated themselves to their trade and the couple had but one sorrow, they never had a child.
Their happiness was brought to an abrupt and tragic end when Sigvorn was 28. Aedre was on her way to Herne to meet a new client and was attacked by passing orcs. She was promptly slain and her corpse was plundered and left on the side of the road. Weeks later, when news of Aedre's death reached Sigvorn he fell into a deep depression. He spent his days in his house, brooding on what could have been, and even started neglecting his obligations. In a few weeks, trade started to wane as his reputation gave to numerous failures. Eventually, the reserves started running low and for the first time in his life Sigvorn felt true scarcity. Having spent a few months in relative poverty, Sigvorn decided that enough was enough, he needed a change, a way to distract himself from his memories and pain.
He left his house in Bree and the shattered remains of the life he wanted and cherished behind. He wandered for a time and as his mind began to clear he thought of another duty that he had neglected. He steeled himself and soon made for Edoras to inform Almód of the fate of his daughter.
Stealing his daughter away from him did not earn Sigvorn any favours with Almód and Sigvorn was received with resentment. "If only you had stayed away from her, none of this would have happened" Almód had shouted upon hearing the dire news "Leave this place, leave me be and do not show yourself to me again!". Great sorrow and guilt plagued Sigvorn, and any chance of making amends and sharing his grief with Almód appeared lost. In the hope that he would find a haven with his parents in Pinnath Gelin, he left Edoras for Gondor. Before he could reach Minas Tirith however, he was ambushed by a band of orcs and narrowly escaped death when assisted by a group of passing rangers.
The wounded Sigvorn was recognized by one of the rangers and was taken in by them. He was informed that both of his parents have passed away during a bandit raid and that Sigahad, his brother was now Lord in his father's place. Expecting no help from Sigahad and with no apparent goal left, his hate for orcs was on the forefront of his mind and Sigvorn joined the rangers. He remained with them until the end of the War of the Ring.
After the war, Sigvorn built up a modest trade between Bree and Minas Tirith and bought a house in Belfalas from the proceeds. Recently he met Captain Belenir, who recruited him to join his detail as a strategist and diplomat.
