Gavillan is a young elf born during the third AgeBorn during Third Age of Middle Earth, Gavillan is a very young and inexperimented elf. His father was a Vanya born during the blessed years of Age of Trees. For the final battle agains the Great enemy of Arda, Morgoth, lately called the war of wrath, he followed the great army from Valinor to take part in the battlefield in Beleriand. There, he was a skilled a great warrior. But the battle was long, and during an assault, his group were separated from others, assaulted by orcs. There, surrounded, he went too far and ended up alone, after rescued from orcs, he lost himself in unknown realms. There, after wandered alone, he met by hasard Gavilan's mother, a sinda escaped from Doriath. They fell in love, and for her, he chose to don't return in the battlefield, and chose to stay with her in Middle Earth. After the war, he followed her and other sindar until realm of Sylvan Elves in Greenwood the Great. There, he engaged himself as soldier of Oropher. He fought in numerous battlefields and also the one were Oropher died. But it's only in third age that he made his wide pregnant of his first and unique child, Gavillan. Unfortunately, few years after, another battle was announced. The batlle knewn as battle of five armies. There he took part, and who would had knewn he would lose his life there ? After this tragic event, Gavillan remained alone with his mother. Lately, once Gavillan was old enough, his mother left Mirkwood, which isn't safe anymore, to live in Lothlorien, where her family remains. Gavillan stayed in Mirkwood.

Desire to follow his father's steps, it's naturally that Gavillan himself chose to engage himself as a soldier, dreaming to become as good as his father and protect not only his kingdom but also the rest of Arda.
Unfortunately, unlike his ancestors, Gavillan was born weaker compared to other elves, and has some struggles in battles. Because of that, he remained longer than others as an apprentice but didn't give up despite the told of the others.

If it wasn't enough, Gavillan has naturally delicate and thin features more than lot of elleth, which give him an androgynous appearance. Insecure with his looks, he would like to looks more manly like "a true warriors" according to what he says. He admires strong warriors of the old ages.  All of those reasons make him constantly despised by the others guards despite he was finally accepted as a soldier, though his rank is low. He don't have a lot of friends and don't easily get news. His closest one left Eryn Lasgalen before to become a librarian in Rivendell. 
Gavillan isn't very self confident and rather introvert, but very curious about the world and others people. He dreams to visit other lands of Middle-Earth.
