Outward Appearance

The old woman before you would seem taller than most if it were not for her withered frame and failing posture. Sometimes she appears decrepit, feeble and hunched over. Her visage covered by a large woolen cowl. Other times she may appear more alert. Almost standing upright, acting dignified and clear spoken.

Depending on her mood she may act like a cantankerous old wretch who no longer cares what anyone thinks and other times she may seem nurturing even loving like your own grandmother. Though oftentimes her eyes reveal a different truth.

Background

Morguile

The Old Crone is a mysterious creature who is rumored to dabble in the Black Arts.

Some know her as a poor old woman begging for coin in Beggar’s Alley. Others have cursed aloud when the name Morguile is spoken aloud. Claiming tales of near-death escapes of a hideous old hag by the same name.

There are those among Bree that claim the old woman is a seer who holds secret knowledge, or the gift of foresight. Desperate mortals have oft sought her advice. However, there is rumor that the Old Crone is not to be trusted, that her gifts come with a price and no matter how fruitful they may seem on the surface, anything offered from her hand is poison and will lead to great suffering. Not only to the seekers but perhaps even to the ones they love.

Finally, there are those that speak of a different creature altogether. Moira, a woman of unfathomable beauty and grace. Her legendary allure is spoken from the lips of inebriated men or women around the taverns of Bree, Comb and the like. But beware. There is rumor of those who after encountering her have awoken the next day with a sore head and their coin purse a lot lighter than the night before.

Because of the uncertainty around her true nature, anyone with any sense would do well to give this one a wide berth.
