She was adopted into a Lorien family when she was just 3. Hence, she calls herself....of the Lorien. She is small, 5 feet, 6 inches in height, 135 lbs, black hair, and emerald eyes, like her birth father who is human and is already passed on to the West. Her birth mother [Galderwen] does not know she is still alive. Laaleth is of the current third age being only 280 years old. Being a huntress, her arms are strong, she is very agile, slim, fit, and has a quiet heart and a peaceful expression on her face most times. She doesn't care to wear shoes, but in colder climates she will. |

Background
A child of two cries in the Enedwaith's night. She is an elvish child, for that is how she looks. She is lifted from the river and the Dunadain wrap her in goat's skin wondering where she comes from. Up river is a broken and battered merchant's cart obviously from Gondor. But she is not Gondorian, according to her looks. The small child whimpers and shivers in the cold of night. They take her to a near-by town to decide where she must be taken.
After the small child is given nourishment and warmth she begins to giggle. Even laughing. She tells the Dunadain a silly story that actually did happen five years earlier. They are astonished she knows the silly thing. She laughs all the more even in her frail little body, emerald eyes aglow in the warmth of the crackling fire she makes the Dunadain hearts warm. They, therefore, give her the name, Lalaith, which means laughter.
That evening she dreams, and when she wakes she tells the Dunadain the dreams she has even with more maturity than a small child of two. They continue to be astonished at the gift of inside such a small child could have. They keep her warm and safe for a year feeding her and getting her ready for travel. So, at three, the Dunadain take little Lalaith to Lothlorein, for that is the place of the Valar, Lorien, master of visions, dreams, and beautiful gardens. There she will be safe.
A respectable family who lost their only child took the little Lalaith into their home and raised her as their own. She, therefore calls herself, Laaleth, the kind, of the Lorien.
Through examination by the healers of the Lorien, it was learned that Laaleth was not Lorien at all. She is not even completely elvish. They learned she is of Rivendell and Gondor, but she is kept in Lothlorein, because of her great gift of visions and dreams, where she will be taught goodness, kindness, bravery, loyalty, and true love. She has been there happily in the Golden Wood for over 250 years.
Around this time, Laaleth was in the Golden Wood meditating and singing a song she had made up in her head, when a glorious elf, much older than she, with white hair and a strong expression on his face begins to harmonize along with her song. The tune blended beautifully as they walked around each other in much amazement. Laaleth laughed, as always. Many things tickle her heart. They became close friends and their songs continued to grow.
But just as a love was beginning to unfold, Amornir was summoned to the boarder to defend Lothlorien on the other side of the Anduin in Mirkwood. Laaleth, along with [Hallathwen], Amornir's much younger sister, and family bid him safety and success, assuming he'd return home again. He never did, for goblin riders ruined him as he left his fellowship and tried to do a mission on his own. He sailed West and Laaleth would never again see her best friend, and [Hallathwen] would never again see her older brother on this side of the sea. Hallathwen desires to go West but still resides in Middle Earth. Laaleth went into seclusion for 20 years. Still today her heart is broken for her best friend is no longer with her
Within those twenty years, the Lorien tracked down the goblin riders and retrieved a ring that belonged to Amornir, Amornir's Ring of Insite, which is a lesser ring of Feanor and Fingolfin crafted in the first age. Not the Simarillion, but just the same elf crafters. It is a ring of inside for a seer of the Lorien. The goblins had no idea of its significance for they are quite stupid. But the Lord and Lady of the Golden Wood did, so they sent the Gallahdrim to retrieve it. Knowing it's powers for a seer, the Lorien gave the ring to Laaleth, even though Hallathwen is the sister of Amornir.
Laaleth does not wear this ring, because it is too big for any of her fingers. Instead, she holds it in her pocket. Still, her visions and dreams are much stronger than before. Even tho these dreams can be disturbing, Laaleth is generally a calm and peaceful elf of the Golden Wood. She smiles and laughs much, but there are moments where she is unwilling to speak of the things she knows and understands of Middle Earth for fear of discouraging good. Being brave and encouraging morale is something she'd rather spread than disturbing visions or dreams. She'd rather speak of the beautiful ones she has.
Laaleth's aim is to maybe learn of her own heritage, her birth parents, or even rid the world of goblin riders. Better yet, the ugliness of the origin of evil, Sauron himself. May Eru be happy as he watches Laaleth and may the Seven of Valar guide her with the light of the stars. May her visions not always be daunting or depressing. She is a faithful friend and wise for her young age.
