Valpori was born and raised in Forochel, and she lived in Sûri-kylä her entire life up until she was twenty. She was born to Yrjänä, the chief of Sûri-kylä and Manu, her mother and his wife. She was a rebellious child, though she loved both of her parents dearly and would try to be on her best behavior for them. Usually, she was seen running around in the village until she got older, and then she was running off from whatever guard her father had tried to make look after her. Usually she could bribe them with a meal, though, to leave her to her own self.

She grew into a beautiful young woman, outspoken and still just as rebellious as she had always been. Her mother died when she twelve winters old, and she began to stay inside more than usual, not running around in and out of the village as she had used to. She put down her bow and spear, and only brought them out occasionally. After a while, she finally started to emerge again, and she regularly went hunting with her grandfather, Vanhempi, who spent most of his time hunting, after his son took over the chief role. She remains very close with all of her family, and she had often traveled to other villages to visit all of her extended family.

Valpori's family was brutally murdered when she was twenty years old, and she only barely escaped. Her clan had been entirely eradicated, and the other clans living in Forochel and even Sûri-kylä had been unable to stop it. Fearing for her life, she fled from Forochel entirely, while even her extended family in neighboring villages were slaughtered. Her father had stolen something precious to a rival clan, and they had taken their revenge.

She came to Trestlebridge and tried to fit in, but her accent and her bright red hair made her stand out. Thankfully, though, no one from her home seemed to follow her, and she tried to continue living as peacefully as she could. She takes work as a traveling Healer, and as she wanders she makes sure to help as many people as she can with what she knows.
