Background
Umbaindes grew up to a Dúnadan mother and an average Bree-land peasant. Her father was not pleased with the fact that his wife would life longer than him, slight the years may be, and his mother was rather unhappy with the life they lead, being simple farmers and herdsmen.
The world changed for Umbaindes when her mother died. The simple life they lead had been forfeited, and her father, mad at the death of his wife and regretting his grudge towards her Dúnadan heritage, became an alcoholic, and would come home every night drunk and intoxicated. He would then proceed to either verbally abuse Umbaindes or blame her for any of their misfortunes, claiming she was a "stain on their pure and untained lives" and that she should "go back to the pits she came from". This hurt Umbaindes very much.
Umbaindes' life was free and the shackles on her existence destroyed when her father committed suicide and killed himself. Of course, she was very sad, but the powerful feeling of freedom was too much for her to comprehend, and she set out in search of a place to call home. However, her exploits turned rather awry, and by the time she had arrived in the home of her mother's ancestors, she was already too greedy with longing for riches, and she took what she could from the tombs, regarding her Dúnedain heritage only little, and such started her life of pillaging.
Yet her band of companions abandoned her, and she was driven mad with grief and anger. This life-changing moment ended in Umbaindes ultimately becoming a ranger, and, ten years later after the betrayal, she still is now, protecting the wilds of Evendim against the tomb-robbers she once thought friends.
