Background

Born: Gladia Belle Redfern of Pindon, Southfarthing
Much of Gladia's life was spent in Pindon, in the Southfarthing of the Shire. Her family was fairly well-off, and for a long time they lived quite happily. However, by the time she was entering her tweens, she was growing increasingly ambitious and tired of her country home. Her family decided that a proper education was long overdue, and she was sent away to live with her Aunt, an overbearingly strict schoolteacher, in Hardbottle. For the next ten or so years, she stayed there, immediately falling in love with the town and all of the sights to see within it. She also fell in love with a boy. He was a handsome sort of hobbit lad, only two years her senior, and he lived just down the path from Gladia and her Aunt. When she came of age, they were married during the Yule season. She took his surname, Everholly, and within two years he became a successful merchant. They lived comfortably despite the dreadfully harsh seasons that followed, and were seldom unhappy. However, not long after their second anniversary and likely due to the particularly inclement winter weather, Gladia's husband took ill, and after months of staying bedridden, he passed away. Gladia soon fell into a deep depression, and once again fell into her aging aunt's care. Although she had never before been close with her aunt, this time of her life brought them very close together. At long last, Gladia's ambition and happiness returned, this time in the form of a new passion: teaching. Gladia was inspired by her aunt's lifelong efforts, and now works in her hometown of Pindon as the local schoolteacher.
