This is a Letter

Nemben's joy never tires. In over a month, I have noticed this.

He loves Lothlórien, likes his parents; even though he has known it for such a short time.

Often, I have to follow (or chase after!) him; as he explores the flets above, or the ground below.

Oh, but I would not change it for the world! My son is full of vigour, and my wife rests in our flet.

 A delivery from Mirkwood.

It has been almost three days since I had the letter handed to me by a Guard of Imladris, i am still in quite a bit of shock, Galadven's skill with the blade was superior, but yet the forces of the shadow were too strong. I don't exactly know what to say, or write, but I feel as if a dagger has been stabbed in my heart, never to be removed.

** Following on from the "Challenge to the Elder race" post made by Azrudaur" **

Khalis stirred from his meditation in the dead of night with a start, every one of his senses reaching out seeking what had brought him out of his restful state. As his senses probed into the night air he was aware of a bird waking from its nest in a nearby tree, but his mind was also reaching for what had disturbed him.

 Why should the old linger, and the young fall?

My heart has been filled with gloom since I left The Halls of Fire in Imladris, after attending a festive night of dance, music and social activity.

I don't feel ready enough to write about my Son's death... but I shall leave the letter I had given to me, by one of the Guards of Rivendell.
