It began with an idea,my idea,to go to the great barrows to search for treasure and relics. It seemed very reasonable,Estelrien was working on her scholaring, and we were raising money for our kinship house. So I sent letters to each of my kinmates asking them to meet me at the prancing pony inn. Tulko,Estelrien, and Josia all came and we agreed to head into the largest barrow that there was,The great Barrow, the maze section. Our goals were to search for treasure to raise money, and relics foe Estelrien.
So we went, and got more then we expected, there turned out to be a great number of wights in the barrow. Not that it was a problem, we deafeated them quite efficiantly. Until we came to a large room, with 8-9 wights and 1 large wight. The ensuing battle was truly a sight to see Tulko whiled his swords in circles, chopping the wights bones in half, Estelrien hacking with her halberd and shouting words of encouragment, and valiant Josia, backstabbing the wights. It went rather well until the large wight decided to ruin it by summoning a large Barrow crawler, and several smaller ones. The crawlers spread noxious mist and poison (and filth, and disease) on the floor, the filth however did not stick to our armour or weapons, due to exellent craftsmanship. We prevailed in the end,and found a chest upon the floor, most of us recovered from the disease imediatelly. I however did not,and was stuck with a most foul disease that no salve could cure.
We went on (including me) to the final room of the maze. In it,we encountered two of the most noxious, foul wights I had ever encountered, Geardring and Gearthal. They attacked us,of course, and we fought back, the wights summoned a small army of foul barrow-denzins,but they were no match for the Wardens of Westernesse! We triumphed after a hard fought battle and took the wights treasure, and left the barrow. But not before finding half of a key,I wonder what it is for...... We will explore more of the barrows another day,and mabye find more treasure. I am currently seeking help from a friend of Tulko's in curing my disease, and hope to be better soon.
