A simple mistake!

I was having a walk at the scholar's stair, just looking around for something valuable to steal, but I hear noises. They come from the street. I ran to the bridge and there I had it. I looked down and I saw a group of men, two guardsmen or so I thought. I recognised Powell, he was down there too, with an arrow through his leg and sat on the floor. I inspected the others, they were all men. One of them was Powell's friend, I saw him back at the tavern when I went to drink some mead.

I knew I had to do something, I just couldn't move. One of the guardsmen had a longsword in hand, and was pointing it towards Powell's friend, and other stranger that was with them, maybe just a knave or some thief I'm guessing, but he was unarmed. ''<<I have to do somethin'!>> I told myself''

I had an idea, and ran off the bridge back to the scholar's stair. I found a small stone, big enough to distract the man with the longsword. I reached the bridge once more, and threw the stone at him. I missed totally. The stone fell two feet away from him, quite a large distance since I meant to hit his head, the only part of his body that didn't have armor.

I searched for a quickly escape from the bridge, turned around and kept running until I surrounded the scholar's stair and reached my goal. I eyed the unarmed man, that was along with Powell's friend. The guardsman was going to kill him, I sensed. I looked down at my belt and decided a clever decision. I took off my dagger and threw it at his feet. The steel made heavy noise as it hit the ground. I didn't dare to eye Powell but so I did. I looked at his wound, was looking horrible. I decided to help him against the other watcher. I took a step foward, but he took out his sword, and put his bow away. I grabbed my stick with both hands, and then looked side to side nervously. I threw my stick to him, and hit his shoulder, barely any damage, thanks to my weakness. I closed my fists and bounced side to side, ready for any moves he'd make.

-Get out of here, lass- he said with a deep voice.

I kept at my post, but opened my fists. I turned around quickly and ran far away-away, I fell to the ground at my escape. I looked at my hands, I was bleeding, but no time for crying, I had tokeepgoing. I raised from the floor and maintained a limping walk.
