Aernoth's diary, page 1 and 3.

Third age, 17th of December.

After waiting a while, he came, I did meet him in the Lone-Lands, the man followed by a wolf, hooded and in red clothes, he was an Angmarim, but what was he doing in the Lone-Lands?

I wonder what...

He spoke of Mordirith, who is Mordirith? A wraith, he said, a wraith leading Carn Dûm. I didn't trust him, I thought wraiths were not real. But then, then I saw orcs, I thought they were tales...But I was wrong. I started to trust him, and he spoke of the free peoples.

Third age, 19th of December.
He convinced me to join him, I sought for power, was this the right choice?                                 The free peoples are weak, freedom cannot be achieved by dwarves hiding in caves or elves sailing to the west. Their mission is impossible, they cannot win this war. Nothing can oppose the dark lord, not even Mordirith. I started my training, I am stronger now and I will start by defeating the free peoples in the nearest camp, they cannot defeat me.
