He did it. I do not know how, but he did it.
That blasted elf walked straight into the tent today, as bold as brass, whilst I was peeling some tubers for the evening meal. Foolish creature! He never once stopped to think why I might come here. He learned though soon enough!
After he repeatedly refused my wish for him to go away and I repeatedly refused his demands to go with him, the blasted thing tried to push me into the campfire! Luckily, his aim was off and I fell to one side of it. Even more luckily, the gloves I wear here are thick leather, so I narrowly avoided burning my hand in the flames by tearing off the covering when it started to smoulder.
I shouted for the men before he could do any more and, sure enough, they came running with their bows and swords held ready! The elf tried to use his southern authorities to talk his way out of it, but they mean nothing in these lands and sure enough he was ushered out of the valley.
He would be a fool to try again. They know what he looks like now and they believed everything I told them about him. I'm safe here, safe from him and his lackeys. He cannot get me for as long as I remain within the valley. Crannog understands the danger and tells me that I am to remain off gathering duties until further notice for which I am grateful. It is a shame that I will not be able to go out into the lands at large, but I do not wish to risk being caught without the protection of the warriors.
