Once upon a time, there was a hare, young, brazen and brown as a chestnut. It strode the world, joyful and glad, but one day, it had realised - it's life has no meaning. It went on to search for it.
First, it approached it's fellow hares. "Friends", it said, "I seek meaning to my life. Will you help me find it?"
The hares laughed. "What meaning need there be beyond juicy carrots on the farmer fields? You are a fool and a dreamer."
Displeased, the hare went on to meet the rabbits. "Rabbits", it said, "I seek meaning to my life. Will you help me find it?"
The rabbits sniffled nervously. "There is no meaning to this. We run and we hide, we are eaten by hawks and badgers and foxes. You are a fool and a daredevil"
Irritated, the hare moved on.And it had met the most beautiful rabbit - it's fur white as snow, it's eyes lovely beads. But the hare was soon chilled, as that rabbit was entering a fox den!
Wary of what the other rabbits said, the hare could not let it go. "The fox is tricking you, little rabbit. He will eat you! Quick, run away!" - it spoke, and ran with the frightened friend to safety.
Foolish little rabbit." The hare said when they had stopped. "What were you doing crawling into a fox's den?"
The rabbit sat down and cried "I've lost my spirit and I cannot find it, no one will help me." It said.
The hare smiled and kissed the rabbit's head "Don't worry, little rabbit. I will help you find it."
Keeping the smile, the hare nuzzled against it's little friend and the two ventured off into the world to find the rabbit's lost spirit. To this day, the two travel, unaware that the meaning of hare's life strides by it's side all this time.
