(OOC Note: Some mundane diary entries have little importance, so the numbers might skip around in her diary a bit.)
Here I am. Back in Bree. I've heard some disturbing news about Mister Eckardt and am barely constraining myself from marching off and searching to find out what the meaning of such news is. I may do just that anyway! Some halfling told me he got himself in a bit of a pickle and is in some form of danger. I believe he said he was abducted? I cannot recall. I vaguely recall the direction in which the halfling told me he left. But more than that, he could not tell. I am worried for him. Not the halfling, that is. I have not known him very long, but Eckardt was certainly a kind soul. It was hard to keep a sour thought in my head for long when speaking with him. Such people are rare and certainly should not be killed! Few people deserve to be killed by human hands.
One of which being Mister Delugoth. I happened upon him in Combe, while speaking with the halfling. I confronted him. Right there. I had to. There was no way I would let him get away without me trying. Fortunately, Bolokoth was with me. He caught up with Sew-...MISTER Sewyn and I before we made it back to the Shire. I was certainly glad to have him there to have my back. Mister Delugoth denied threatening me and attempting to kill Mister Sewyn. He claimed that he had never even seen me before! Ha! He led Bolokoth and I out of town and I actually found myself wishing Sewyn were there with us. I never thought I would wish such a thing! I also found myself wishing I knew more of how to use a sword. I know merely basics. I also wish I knew anything on mounted combat...as that was how it began. I will not lie, my mind is still quite scattered and I am still shaking from the fight. Aslea was there. Apparently she would not let me die without having me first, fulfill my promise to write her a book. She took the brunt of that evil man's violence. I have a bruised collarbone, but that is the extent of my injuries. Ashwyneth says Aslea will be fine, though. She escaped with less damage than was usual for being trampled by a horse. Apparently, Bolokoth is an undercover Watcher of Bree?? That took everyone, including me, by complete and total surprise. In the end, the man was able to dodge nearly every attack made by all of us women...but Bolokoth tackled him and jailed him. It should make me feel safe...but I feel as though he will break out at any moment. I feel far from safe.
Anyway, we took Aslea to Ash's infirmary and a large crowd followed. One of the women who helped, though I never caught her name, was very kind, and offered to teach me more on using a sword. But a strange, injured dwarf stumbled in and told her to run and hide, that someone was hunting her. It was rather disconcerting. She hurried out, of course. Ash and I tended the dwarf, then I sat with Aslea.
Sewyn was patrolling nearby, which is foolish in his condition, but whatever. He came in and said NOT A WORD to me. After all that?! He acted as though I was not even there. A more frustrating man cannot exist!
I would write more, but my hand is shaking more as it tires.
