Torn by guilt

Silence, and then, a voice. A horrible voice.

"Can you hear it, Gawck? The different kind of screams? Not long ago you smiled with blood wet upon your lips. Did it hurt you? Did it hurt her? You know it did, don't walk away from it."

"Shut up.."

"Why? So you go and grab another bottle with this so called.. Friend? You think she'd pat your shoulder when she finds out what you did?"

"I said.. Shut. Up."

"Pathetic. A girl from the alley with rags on her bones, you couldn't leave her alone, could you? Had to fight everything she wanted with what you wanted? She cried more than once, you keep apologising but you can't seem to stop hurting her. You know what she meant with those. You tried to force her.. Selfish, jealous, ignorant.."

"Please, go away. Just.. Stop."

"No, Gawck, you can't force me away. Because whenever i'm here, you'll remember and you'll try to flush me away with awful liquor. You know it'll come back. I will destroy you Gawck."

"What should I do, huh? What do you propose?"

"Why not.. Hit the walls again, open those crusts on your knuckles. You do love to fight, you have proven this, you fought the man that saw more in you than anyone ever did. You've shown who you really are. That's good, you can't hide from it. You're a murderer, thief, traitor, and what is worse, you turned your back on Alex and the others, you fled, you're a coward. But you won't flee from me. You'll always carry me around."

I am your guilt. And I will do everything to tear you apart.
