Settling In

Rough, chicken-scratch writing covers a page of a poorly constructed, slightly singed journal, along with a host of crossed out words and spelling errors. The page reads:

Been back in town six days, just run out of food. Work's not started again yet. The boat's damaged, house too. Got a bunch of leaks in the roof, and a few coins left for spending. Wish things could go back to normal.

- Nails
- Buckets
- Flour
- Rope
- Straw from the banks
- Shingles?
- Wood for shutters (The glass in all the windows got broken.)
- Buy a toy for Adja
- Salted fish
- Find good mud for repairs. (Where in the world does one find good mud? What IS good mud?)
- Potatoes (I’m not even going to look for potatoes. If Adelaide wants them she can look for herself).
- Milk! (Are there any cows left? Trip to Dale??? Travel is to costly we’ll have to do without it if Brúsi’s died).
- Pester Dagbjørn for cheese wedges.
- Wine? (Is there enough coin for wine? Please let there still BE wine!).
- Find wine!
