- January 2nd: Beregilthor is born in Minas Tirith.

- August 16th: Uiloniell is born in Osgiliath.

- March 31st: Aglaril is appointed as caretaker of the beacon of Amon Dîn.
- April 1st: Aglaril leaves for the Beacon Hills.

- June 15th: Anartil visits uncle Aglaril for the last time.
- June 30th: Anartil becomes a soldier of Gondor in the service of Lord Denethor II.
- August 19th: Anartil meets his ranger friend Haladir.

- June 20th: Sauron attacks Osgiliath, introducing one of the Nine Black Riders to the Men of Gondor. Captain-general Boromir and Captain Faramir lead their companies into battle. Destruction of the bridge of Osgiliath, the west shore falls to Sauron.
- Anartil and his friend Haladir fight but Anartil is cut off and flees from battle.
- June 21st: Anartil is branded a deserter, released from duty to Lord Denethor and banished from Minas Tirith.
- June 22nd: Anartil leaves the white city by carriage for central Gondor.
- June 29th: Anartil arrives at Belfalas and stays there for a fortnight in a small house by the sea.
- July 14th: Anartil leaves Belfalas astride his own horse.
- August 31st: Anartil arrives at Sarn Ford after having traversed roughly a thousand miles through Eriador, malnourished and without purpose. The rangers take him under their care and learn of his past.
- 22nd of September: The Black Riders attack Sarn Ford, the rangers are defeated.
- Anartil is cut down and falls to the Black Breath.
- 23d of September: The surviving rangers travel to the North Downs with the afflicted in the hope of finding a cure. Frodo leaves the Shire.
- 8th of Octobre: The rangers arrive at Esteldín with Anartil. Anartil is cared for by Aragorn's followers. Treatment with kingsfoil starts. Anartil still in cold slumber.
- 10th of Octobre: Anartil awakens.
- 13th of Octobre: Anartil wakes from a nightmare about the Witchking and finds a stray dog aside his bed. He names him Fornôl. Anartil also learns of the ancient realm of Arnor and the threat in the north.
- 14th of Octobre: Anartil gazes upon Fornost. Anartil sees a ghost in the distance.
- 15th of Octobre: Anartil is told about an errand.
