5. Dunland

Dunland was always a place of malice. Before, it was saving members of the Network from the wicked Hillman called Pren. Now, it was convincing three hungry Hillmen that she was not interested in coming with. Weapons were drawn as they argued in different tongues, pointing and hand signals.

Then, the former sailor realized that they were after Goat, not her.

“I’m not trading Goat.” She spoke. Where her sword was pointed was something she held in her mind as they were wielding spears and one had a bow. The standoff continued until one of the men moved. Cerriel moved towards him before the other two threw a spear and let an arrow go. She looked away, expecting excruciating pain. Instead, she was still standing, staring at three Hillmen. She noticed that Goat had taken the attacks, saving her.

A rare rage fills her as she swings her sword at the first attacker. The man drops as she continues on. A sharp pain runs through her left arm, but Cerriel ignores it to take down the second spearman. Meanwhile, the archer is drawing her next arrow before moving back. The arrow is let loose as Cerriel dives out of the way, twisting an ankle. The archer then turned to get help, shouting loudly. Taking the chance, Cerriel got to her better foot and started retreating as fast as she could. She only glanced back once, already missing her animal friend.

She would continue wandering for weeks until she entered the Gap of Rohan.
