The knowladge of Elrond Half-elven

For a brief moment I was able to take some rest. This was when I needed to get some supplies in Imladris before I went into the mountains.
I took this rest also as a chance to gain some knowladge. Its been a while since I last ventured into the mountains and as such I went to ask Lord Elrond for knowladge. What was I to expect? Does he know of the messenger I try to track down?
Many things are there to be spoken about...
And not allot of time to do so..
