Background
History
The old tales and writing tell that the hobbits migrated towards the West around the year 1300 of the Third Age, and settled in and around Bree. The hobbits lived there side by side with the native population of men, and both races flourished thanks to each other. Even though must hobbits moved further West in the search of new land in the T.A 1601, there is still a large hobbit population in the Bree-lands.
Even in these late days of the Third Age, there are still hobbits toiling in the fields around Staddle and living in relative peace and quiet. Even though the Bree-hobbits still have sporadic contact with the other hobbits in the Shire, this mostly was being kept with Buckland and the Eastfarthing.
Characteristics of Bree-hobbits
In general, hobbits from Bree-land aren't that different from their cousins in the Shire. Both of them had the same customs, even though Bree-hobbits will always note that they were the first in any custom. This especially goes for the smoking of Pipe-weed, still a much grown crop around the town of Staddle. The biggest difference between the two must be that the Hobbits from Bree-land had a close relationship with the native men-population, and were therefor more effected and knowledgeable with the outside world.
OOC info/rules
We are a new Heavy-roleplaying kinship that tries to bring hobbits toward the Bree-lands, and have an active community in that region with the local Bree-landers. We are mostly active in Bree and Staddle, yet we also visit other regions in Bree-land or even the Shire on visits.
This are our three central rules:
* Every hobbit that wants to join must either live in the Bree-lands, or have serious plans to live there.
* Every player's character must have a suitable profession, first name and surname (and other characteristics) that are appropriate with the works of Tolkien (This means no Woolytoes Sneakyfeets who are mages.)
* We follow the general Roleplaying etiquette. (No Godmoding/Metagaming, no "modern" swearing, etc etc)
