VII. Corruption progress

Narquelië 3018 Stewards Reckoning, Rivendell

With a mighty defeat the Red Company returned to RedStable, having less than they departed with. Very close within reach of Bree, I was summoned for an urgent council. This council took a more unexpected turn. Once we were all there, we saw new effects of the corruption. Maybe you forgot, but our marksman Ancthan was still infected. When discussing next to the table we were talking about the sword we had found, already a while ago before all the other expeditions. It was the only clue we had left yet, for the stone we lost. But Ancthan, corrupted as he was, seemed to have a great desire to the morgul blade. He grabbed it and we needed it back for investigation. we tried to take it from him, but he suddenly appeared very aggressive. None were able to recover the sword. Ancthan ran off with the sword and hid it in his own house. well, without permission of each other, not even his kin could enter his house. we couldn't break that law. But soon we realized that it didn't matter. we gave up the investigation. We now know that evil is spreading for good, with bad intentions for the Shire and Middle-Earth. But we urged also to undertake a new journey, to the far lands of the Dwimordene. I didn't feel anything for that and only made the journey to Rivendell. Never I'll set a foot in that land! but it was the only way to prevent us losing our kinsman. Or worse, seeing him serving the enemy.
