Names, and queer backgrounds ~ Cyriad and Riverside

‘Your name is quite the interesting one! A man born with little to his name, now a man of great power and status; Vaeswryth is a name quite unknown here, in the far West of the world – and, one does wonder, how did it come to exist in Gondor, where names are much simpler?’ Riverside said, with a voice that sounded genuine, yet was clearly suggesting of some hidden threat.

‘Indeed, one does wonder! Yet, it is your own name that many would question – though, of course, they should not. Why, your own name is something quite foreign; I presume you have come from the East, or you have some heritage there? Well, as much is for you to know, yourself, I expect...’ Cyriad said, equally genuine in tone: he knew what Riverside was trying to do, but he was safe enough, for Riverside’s own backgrounds were not so pure.

Names and backgrounds are always quite diverse; use your rival's as a weapon against them, while using your own as a shield.
