Background
Connolain (Commander of the free. Supporter of the king. From the Sinadrin-Gondorian words: 'Cono-' = Commander and '-lain' = Free.
'Tulu-' = supporter '-Taur = king) is a 68 year old, cultured and retired Gondorian commander who received his pension and went to live in the countryside with his wife. He owns a fairly profitable merchant business in Gondor.
2 years ago an orc raid came down from the mountains and slaughtered her while she was tending to their sheep.
Distraught, Connolain took to the road, striving to head to the home of her ancestors in the town of Bree to bear this heavy news. There his cousin Edennil (= man-friend) joined him as his personal herald to aid in spreading courage among the free-peoples. Seeing the darkening shadows stretching throughout Middle-Earth they decided to offer their skills of leadership to the 'Resistance Legion' by training up local Breelanders into what could roughly be termed soldiers....
