29 Lithe Mersday
I'm not sure what I've gotten myself into, but that's generally the case with me. I went to have a pint afterwork, as usual. Ran into Bill and the grey haired girl Ceriana. She's certainly not as intrusive but I still caught her looking at me with puppy dog eyes. I'll just keep my distance, someone who pays more attention to her is bound to catch her fancy eventually. I found Mungan speaking with Tosie, I don't know the man personally but he is certainly a notable figure in town, as are all the Woodhams. Tosie caught my attention even in the noisy crowd, her quiet presence is hard to ignore. Truly a lovely girl, and I admit to being a sucker for a cute redhead. When the talk grew crass, courtesy of Bill of course, she left and I followed.
Away from the noisy tavern in one of the back rooms I spoke with her. I had intercepted the drawing she did of the Dunlending and I'll admit only on this page that it did make me feel a bit jealous. I had thought the drawing she did of me and sent to me was rather special but maybe not so much. That aside, my main concern was this beast of a man should be released, he would seek her out. He's dangerous and personally I think he should be dumped in a river somewhere and rid the land of his scourge. He's responsible for too many fights and injuries. I'm not Chief Watcher though and it's not up to me. Tosie seemed a bit put off by my opinion of the matter and maybe she likes the bad boys. I have found personally, that danger and excitement a man can present often arouses women. I decided to test that theory and became rather aggressive and played the big bad Watcher role and I could see in those deep dark eyes the spark of excitement. I was going to make a joke of it, scare her a bit and then tickle her or some such to lighten the mood but she kissed me instead before I could get to that point. I was half expecting it but it was still a surprise, a pleasant one at that though I do feel some trepidation getting involved with a woman at this time. I returned her kiss and had to hold myself in check. It was hard, literally and figuratively, as Tosie is a very pretty girl with the most luscious mouth. We spoke a bit and she indicated she wanted me. At that point, I had to give her fair warning. I've not got the best record with women and there are a few in this town that would likely warn her away from me. But that was the past, I'm starting over. I just hope that the nature of my job does not interfere too much. It's long and unpredictable hours, it's dangerous and boring, it puts me in a mood a lot of the time. But it's worth it. I would not give it up for anyone or anything. Anyway, it's just the beginning and we'll see how it goes.
